$25 4-packs are killing the game.

Parabola is one the greatest beers of all time, and people are complaining about the $10 12oz price?! What about the $12 prairie bottles, or the $25 local bombers ?! People are nuts. Just because Firestone Walker is a large brewery, doesn't mean they can price their beers the same as others. I'd love to see what Lagunitas is making on the High West 6-packs.

For reference, what were bombers priced at in your area before the format shift? TIA

I preferred 2016 as it had mellowed just enough. 2017 was definitely running hot, but still damn good. Hell, they were all damn good. I just loved the fact that they had 3 years to try on tap.

They were 17$ for the bombers around here. We won't see Parabola for another 2-3 weeks here in Kansas, so not quite sure where he came up with 13$ for the 12oz bottle.

Bravo was 9.29$ here, which msrp was 9.99. So I'd imagine that we would see a relatively close price on Parabola, maybe a little more though.

It might be worth it depending on what you like to do. The Barrelworks beats anything Venice has, IMO. If you like sours, you'll like it. Also, CA is more beautiful up there. If you enjoy hiking there's better options and the beach is still close by

Love the new format, FW needs to take one more step and put their barrel aged beers in four-packs. I'd pay $30 for a four-pack of Parabola, Sucaba, and Double DBA if they brought it back.

Was there yesterday, too. I'd say '15, '17, then '16, with the '17 running hot. In time, I think '17 will mellow out to be the best of them.

Yep, they had and offered the 15,16,17 vertical on tap, but I was driving so just tried the 17. I still have some 14,15,16, but drank up all my 12 and 13 in 2015 road trip. Unfortunately, the 17 that I had was a little on the cold side to open up, but impressed by the 45F degree serving and I'm sure at 55-60 degrees, it will be quite tasty. The wife is usually only good for 2-3 ounces, so really liking the 12 oz format at 14.5%. As a bonus, I got my Bruery Chocolate Rain on Thursday, but probably won't open that until NCAAF season begins (tailgate brew).

Drinking a Bravo now. I may stop in next weekend and buy more Parabola.

I'm in the same boat. I think Paraboloa will be selling around $10 or less depending on the store/state/area. While the other beers mentioned are great in their own respects, Parabola is very unique in its own right and worth every penny. I hold it in a higher regard too. As long as the price isnt' absurd I'll try to pick up at least two bottles, which is a little more pricey than buying a single bomber in the past.

I also had the vertical at Venice, and to be honest wasn't blown away by any. Clearly the 2017 was the best for me. I'll reserve final judgment until I drink the bottle I bought. Anyhows, I wish Central Waters distributed here...

To each their own. I only had the 2016 and I liked it more than BCBS 14-16, KBS 15-16.

So the back of the box says this is a unique year in that it's brewed off-site. Anyone who's had this year's vintage notice any change in flavor or quality because of this?

Local breweries tend to charge $18 on their big BBA bombers. $16 for the likes of Abyss. This will be the first release year for Parabola in my state. By all accounts of Bravo, it barely sold. I know what I'll be doing if I see a cache of it just sitting.

I had a trade buddy who was cool enough to trade at $4$ which seemed to retail at $16-18 in the old format. I don't know if I would trade at $10/12oz but I am happy to have a shot at it.

I buy Prairie without a second thought at $8/12 oz, and sometimes the Avery bigger beers.

Overall this just makes them look bad. GI BCBS changed their format and people got mad at $9.99/16.9 oz. but people can't be mad at FW for doing something very similiar, or if anything, worse? A $/oz. gain for the brewery and loss to consumers will always have some backlash. But now finally, Parabola may be at the peak of their pricepoint. Given what I have felt were winning scores in tastings, maybe FW too felt they were under pricing their product.

From what I gather, Bravo isn't as liked as the other specialty beers. I hear it's tasting especially hot right now.

Bravo is especially hot right now and I would recommend sitting on it for at least a 10 months
