That’s why there’s Small Cheval. But then you’re in a opening up a different can of worms if you’re going that far away.

The French Market is also not a bad idea. Basically just a giant indoor street market with a ton of food if all kinds. The poke in the city is there.

If you’re looking for Mexican, 5 Rabanitos is great.

Event finally showing sold out. Gotta be a record on how long tickets were available, right?

Not showing up for me; any chance you could cut & paste? Looks like they changed it to 'private'.

Sorry ... here are the details on the Rabbits event. Just show up and buy a $30 punchcard for 9 5 oz pours of barrel aged goodness:

Rabbits is offering a blind tasting of 9-(5oz) pours of barrel aged beers from 4pm Nov. 6, 2017 to 9pm Nov. 8, 2017 for $30 during normal business hours with the purchase of a ticket. You have this amount of time to drink all 9 beers and get your vote in by marking the number of your favorite brew. The numbers on the cards will be punched as you try the beers. Votes will be tallied at the end of the event and beers will be revealed. Cheap medals will be awarded to 1st 2nd & 3rd place. Absolutely NO REFUNDS will be given. Beers may be substituted if they are not available. Not responsible for lost or stolen tickets or anything else for that matter. Please drink responsibly, the ABV may be high. Tickets are not necessary to purchase beer at regular price. Must be 21 years of age.

Go to either Chilango down the street in University Village for tacos or go to Plzen in Pilsen for higher end Mexican food along with a generally great taplist. Bonus: Plzen is affiliated with Evans Street Liquor (directly above it), and they have a boutiquey/curated selection of local beers.

It's one of my major pet peeves to do blind tastings of extremely different beer styles and substyles. I felt the same about that blind New England hoppy tasting that was on that podcast in the Chi NEIPA thread (including oaked Night Moth and single IPA M-43 with the IIPAs was silly). Putting a coffee imperial stout with a vanilla imperial stout with a wee heavy with a gin saison with a quad with a brown ale with an additive-free imperial stout is kind of stupid in my opinion. Obviously it's for fun, but I see no point in blindly comparing beers so wildly different. It's going to come down to personal style preference rather than which beer best achieved what it was aiming for. "You don't have to go." Yeah, I am not going. Obviously it doesn't really matter. I just think it's really weird to even bother doing from an event standpoint, and I felt like expressing my confusion.

Any speculation what the More Brewing entry is for this weekend? BBA Double Rainbow? BA Babka?

Heard it's neither of the two. Something new. Also has only been in barrels for 3 months....

Come on now, I believe I've seen you enjoying some Popeye's for a mid-FOBAB break.

The accuracy of my FOBAB memories is very substantial and will not be questioned.

That may explain the indoor air quality issue at Fobab.
