Just click the link provided by @MHorridge. You can purchase a membership and setup an account on their site. If case you did not see the link at the bottom of that page be sure to read through the FAQ also as it will answer many of the questions you may have. I thought is was listed in there and unless something has changed I believe they are still going to be able to ship bottles within the state of Virginia (so in case you may have friends/family up here).

The limit for 2017 is 500 memberships that the owner mentioned a few days ago. For this year (2016) there has been posts thrown out that membership is a little under 400 and several weeks ago Bros mentioned current members were 75% renewed at the time.

Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Softly Spoken (Barleywine) is available for 2017 HS to pre-order. The beer is the 4th Anniversary Beer for the brewery. This is NOT one of the included or exclusive bottles for the year but if you cannot make it up for the 4th Anniversary Party (1/14/2017) it will be held until the first half pickup deadline

We like to speak softly here at Brothers, letting our beer project what we want to communicate. And sometimes, if we want to raise our voice a little, we throw our Barley Wine, Softly Spoken, into Apple Brandy barrels to age. Apple Brandy flavored Softly Spoken features a malt flavor and smoky background, with a sweet, fruity bite and belly warming feel. Speak softly, drink confidently.

An update went out yesterday after the above post. There was also an issue with shipping fees being charged on bottles but that was corrected shortly after it came to the brewery's attention. (As of now the bottle is only available for pickup from the brewery. The correct cost (after taxes) should have been $21.06. If you ordered before the shipping fee was removed be sure to reach out the the brewery, [email protected], with your order # so they can refund that fee.

• We apologize for the previous technical difficulties with email and the AB Softly Spoken presale. We were required to work through a few glitches in our updated system. All current issues should be resolved.
• New Horizon Society members have mentioned having issues with assigning trustees. This issue should also be resolved. To add, change or update your trustee, sign into your account, click on account details, and scroll to the bottom of the page. You can do this at anytime and as many times as needed.
• We chose Apple Brandy Softly Spoken (15 month aged barley wine) as our 4th Anniversary beer. It will be released to the general public on draft and for sale in 750 mL bottles next Saturday, January 14. Your first perk for the 2017 membership is to be able to preorder a bottle (limit 1 per HS member) to ensure that you get one. The presale ends on Thursday, January 12 at midnight and quantities are limited.

First Can Collaboration Release Preorder
Now that we are halfway through the AB Softly Spoken pre-order, which ends this Thursday at midnight, we are opening up the pre-order for our first can collaboration. Like with the previous pre-order, you will have 2 weeks to purchase yours. All pre-orders are limited to 1 per person, and must be purchase as a set. The last day for the pre-order is 1/25/2016 at 16:00 EST.

Also, please keep in mind that these cans will NOT fall under normal Horizon rules for pickup and MUST be picked up within 2 weeks of the release. Since the release date is on 1/27/2017, the last day to pickup is 2/10/2017. We will continue this process for all future can releases in this series. Anyone local have insight on the anniversary party. I was considering taking a ride out there for it and to pick up the last of my 2016 HS bottles, but only the new release is listed on the tap list. Is it supposed to be a bunch of surprise tap reveals or are they just trying to keep people from coming by not advertising ahead of time what will be available?

 

They tend to tease by revealing 1-2 taps every day or two leading up to some of their events. I would expect the update them all by Friday. Fire Thief and Crimson Lake were added a few days ago. Not expecting anything mind blowing but maybe they have some surprises up their sleeves.

 

Last day for HS to pre-order AB Softly Spoken is today. Order must be placed by midnight. Can pickup beginning Saturday but they will hold until the 1st half (6/15/2017) deadline if needed.

The added a few more tapping today. They are definitely drawing out revealing everything. Just go ahead and post them all so people can decide if they want to make the trip...

Thanks for the update @TomCat11. I'm definitely taking the ride so hoping they add a couple more solid choices. Would be nice ifor they add Choc Hazelnut Resolute in case the bottle I'm grabbing is one of the infected ones.

 

Last day for Horizon Society to pre-order 16oz 4pk cans for the collab release happening this weekend is today at 4pm. Available for pick up beginning Friday at 4pm

Coconut Shy – 6.2% ABV Coconut stout in 16oz cans. This beer is one of the only non-collaboration beers that will be released in 2017.

Us and Them – 6.3% ABV IPA collaboration with Ocelot Brewing made with Mosaic and Amarillo.

Did anyone make it to Bros this weekend for the can releases? I thought they both were very well done. Having a few from Ocelot before, I could definitely taste their influence in 'Us and Them' as it tasted similar to some of theirs I have had. Coconut Shy had heaps of coconut on the nose. Not quite as much on the taste but still solid.

AB Softly Spoken really surprised me. So much of the barrel notes showed through yet it was not overwhelming. Loved it!

 

Had someone mule me the Us and Them it's real solid.

 

Didn't see a post yet but email went out a couple weeks ago with notice of the first included bottle (Drunken Mornings) as well as the first "exclusive" bottle (Hidden Hope) of 2017. Both will be available for pick up during Daylight Day (March 11th) after 2pm. Information about purchasing additional bottles of both are in the email sent 2/20 and the reminder on 2/27.

 

Anyone heading to Daylight day this year? I bet the attendance will be down from last year due to the issues and the cold weather they're calling for.

 

I'm not going to be able to make it but the turn out will be interesting to hear about. It's Spring Break this week for JMU so the student population will even be thin. I think the snow they were calling for earlier in the week has now shifted south so that's not too much of an issue any more. Mid-30s / low 40s and sunny all weekend according to the forecast. With the collab can release, Daylight Day and March Madness one would think it would be a well attended but I'm not sure it will be as big as the brewery is hoping.
