    Thoughts
    1. Wish we could make this one. The porter sounds good to me personally I was just 100% expecting Vintage.
    2. Probably no reason to even go that weekend. I bet it sits for awhile.
    3. While I dont love the price increase their beer has been under priced for so long its long over due.

I just hope they keep the 4 pp for future releases. I'll gladly trade an extra $5/bottle for the ability to buy two more bottles.

Guessing it's 4pp because they know this will probably end up like Wild Bitter did in 2015. May as well give the people that show up a couple extras.

Won't expect the same when there's fruit involved.

How do you know the batch sizes?

    Edit: nevermind I'm an idiot

God damn, just checked and the original Golden Ale was 160 barrels. SO much more than anything that has come since. VSB was only 5.3, for reference and the smallest batch was the Bourbon Barrel Kriek with just 5bbl almost seven years ago. Source: looking at bottles in my cellar. :grinning:

I grabbed a 4 pack of Strawberry Rhubarb last week on my way north on 53. I am hoping they still have some on my way back south.
    So good.

My wife was able to find strawberry rhubarb at several places in the more rural towns in Central Wisconsin over the weekend . So if you didn't get any in Madison or Milwaukee take a nice scenic drive, it's out there.
    And yes it is fantastic!

Any idea how long SR will keep? I had a four pack and drank three right away because it was so good... now I'm wondering if it's worth cellaring my last bottle.

New glarus is about the best in the world at flavor stability. I've had 8 year old Belgian red next to fresh Belgian red and they taste almost identical. I would imagine SR would be the same.

Yep. This is when I stopped wasting celler space with the fruited beers. Had a 4 or 5 year old serendipity next to a fresh one and could barely tell the difference. Now the R&D, Cranbic, and several other 4 packs they make is a different story but the regular fruits arnt worth holding on too unless they become one offs (like SR now)

Also worth noting for those curious about how fast the new R&D will go: Their Instagram post unveiling it and talking about the release (and of the Abt) only has 633 likes and 12 comments. Their post about the Strawberry Rhubarb has 1,200+ likes and 75 comments. That lack of intense excitement and large batch size should equate to it being something that will likely be available after the weekend release. The bottle limit might change that, though.

It will sell out sometime next year when they put the remaining palates out in the depot one case at a time.

The 4 fruit beers are pasteurized, correct?! Ergo, not much to change over time a sthe bugs are zapped. Which is what sucks about 2016 Bourbon County....little evolution of the beer as they, I guess needed, to pasteurize due to the 2015 fiasco. Anyway.

I think the general consensus is that all of their beers are currently pasteurized except R&D.

Some older Thumbprint/Unplugged beers might not have been pasteurized, but I think everything nowadays is.

I was on the Hard Hay Tour on Friday and the tour guide and Dan both said that they were getting ready to brew Hometown Blonde for release at the brewery only this summer. So it's coming, but no definitive timeframe.

I dont know how many times this needs to be said. Bugs are not what changes Stouts. Its oxidation. Pasteurization has ZERO effect on the cellerability of BCBS.
