2017 New Glarus Thread

Yup, got myself another $18 6-pack of Zwickl. That is some tasty stuff.

 

Grabbed 2 more 4pks of Zwickel myself. Last purchase was long gone! Now bring on that Hometown Blonde!

 

Around 2 PM, Zwickel was down to less than 2 cases, FYI

 

Another wonderful R&D release. Deb walked the line shaking hands and thanjing us, and Dan told us abour the 2 beers. Well done NG!

 

Anyone have any idea if they are likely to still have some R&D left today (and yes I know I could call but I have a 0% success rate with them picking up the phone)?

 

If needed, I got you covered on a bottle if they don't end up making it available again at the brewery today or over the next few weeks.

 

Thanks, I did try Facebook (and a failed call). They did respond in a few hours. They are out.

 

I'll say that the beer is really quite good. Deftly balanced between smokiness, tartness (certainly not what I'd call "sour"), dark fruits, cola, chocolate, vanilla, and a soft sweetness that rides throughout. It's a delicious beer, and while I do wish I could've gotten four-packs of 12oz. bottles of it, I'm happy to finally be able to try it at all.

 

Had a great time at the event, Saturday was a picture perfect day for it. I'm not a big sour guy, but I was pleasantly surprised on how much I liked the sour porter. The Abt was also tasty as well.

We got there shortly after they opened and we had no trouble our allotment as well as a nice place to drink in the shade for a couple of hours. The kids had plenty of room to run around and play. As a added bonus I also picked up some Zwickel as well. I think my wife and I spent a small fortune there but we got some great beers to take home!

It was a very nice day all around, New Glarus hit a homerun with this event. Very well done!

Out of stock. I also messaged them and they said that they had none for sale.

did you ask about the collaboration bottles, by chance? i just drove 3 hours to madison on my way to NG, wondering if i should even bother with the rest of the drive. lol. woops.

 

I asked about "any special releases" and if they'd be available at the brewery. She said "sorry, no we don't". Worth calling though.

 

I specifically asked about both R&D & collaboration and was told no, I assume in relation to both.

 

I'm going to be in Madison for the next few days, where is the best place to pick-up a selection of New Glarus beers? Thanks.
