It's not just THAT incident that ended the sharing. Talking with staff there has been ongoing problems of people not cleaning up their mess, puking, people passed out before noon and broken toilet. The incident was likely the final straw.

Fair amount left at Steve's Junction Road, but we don't open until noon on Sundays. Sleep in and stop by!

Any Vintage still left at the brewery?

Was wondering the same. Thought about going back and getting more. When I was there at about 4:00 yesterday they still had a bunch left.

They are out. Not sure if they sold out yesterday or first thing this morning.

My understanding was that they weren't selling the R&D releases outside of the 2-day posted dates. That's the way it's been for the other ones, at least.

I remember two years ago, they were selling the remaining Wild Bitter & possibly Golden Ale in the depot in the days proceeding the release. Wonder what the plans are for extra bottles if they are no longer selling any outside of the 2-day window? Festival pours?

I think it has been since that release that they don't put out the remaining bottles for sale. New Glarus has been sending more bottles to bars for events, Vintage 2014 was put out for sale a year later at $20 per.

It would be nice if they had more onsite R&D's during the releases now that they have done away with shares.

Did you ask if they actually sold out or are you assuming since they aren't on sale?

When I was there and picking up my two bottles around 4:00 on Saturday, they had a good pallet and a half left. Don't know how many bottles that is, but I'd say hundreds at the very least. Given it was a 40 barrel batch, that's about 9,000 bottles. Even late Saturday it was busy, but that's a LOT of people at 2 bottle per person.

Couldnt agree more. People hear share and automatically think that is an excuse to get black out drunk before noon and make complete fools of themselves.

Guessing the parking lot shares are done next year, because none of this changed despite not being able to drink up in the garden.

People pissing in the woods, blocking parking spaces, setting up their chairs/etc.. right in the middle of the damn road. If I owned a brewery, I'd be bouncin people left and right. All it takes is a couple of entitled assholes with a little liquor in em to ruin it for everyone.

It's sad too, because line sharing is one of my favorite parts of that trip to NG during GTMW weekend. I've never felt entitled to do it -- hell, I question why they even allow it. Make us buy your beer! -- but it's factored into my decision making every year when I plan my trip. We show up early to hang out. Next year, maybe we show up later and just head to Madison.

So what did people think of Hometown Blonde? To me it seems a little more complex than the last batch a few years ago (although it is hard to compare a current beer to a memory).

I felt there was a lot going on. Some hay/grass/biscuit on the nose, and then an interesting earthy taste (along with the expected pils flavors). Sometimes a bit of lemon. The finish is a little spicy, more so than the previous batch. Overall I thought it was fantastic.

The $18 per six pack is a little steep, especially after the price last time. But then again, I just paid $15 each for a couple 500 ml bottles... I guess the question is can I find a comparable pils in the area--nothing is coming to mind.

I had just planned on buying the sixer, but now I am thinking I might get a little more if I go back to the Depot.

If you are in the Madison area, keep an eye out for Blackrocks (Marquette, MI) Classic Pilsner. I know they have started to distribute a few beers (51K IPA for sure) in the southern part of the state, but not sure about the pilsner. It is one of the best pils that I have ever tasted.

I need something explained to me that's been kind of bothering me. What's the fascination with the Raspberry Tart 4 Packs? In just about every establishment across the state, with a liquor license, Raspberry Tart (bombers) has been on the shelves for years (along side Belgian Red and Serendipity). Now they started bottling it in 4-packs and it's all of a sudden a must have. Why?!?!

By all means, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's the same beer...just bottled differently, right?

In 4-pks Raspberry Tart is basically half the bomber price and no one really wants a full bomber of it all at once. A 12oz bottle is a perfect serving size.
