Here's a strange one. Celebration was pouring out of the Pale Ale tap at Charlie's Kitchen in Harvard Square the other night. I even asked the guy if they'd swapped out the kegs but he insisted it was the Pale Ale.

Even if my palate was busted, that was the reddest Sierra Nevada Pale Ale I've ever drank.

I will check Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge today and report back. Usually they get tons of it in when it ships.

Ted's in Charlton has a ton of it in the walk in cooler. $14.00 for a 12 pack. Bomb ass sandwiches too

I was wondering if I was the only one. Sure the hops fall off some but damn, still a great beer well past when you would expect.

Finally picked some up. Got a 12pack for $15 at Bacon's in Hudson, MA. This was one of my first "favorite" beers. With all the love for the soft mouthfeel the NEIPAs are getting, while this might be a bit thinner, it's pretty full bodied and smooth af. Great brew.

SN beers in general hold up so much better than anything else on the market. I won't shy away from buying a 6 month old SNPA, it still tastes great.

It's actually better when it has a few months on it.

They are one of the better, if not the best, breweries in the country at packaging. Their system is set up to ensure as little oxygen as possible is in those bottles/cans.

Celebration also has one of the better malt backbones of any IPA, it sets the standard for a "balanced" IPA (balanced in quotes, because it's still an IPA). So when that sweet caramel malt backbone peaks through with age, the beer still tastes good.

Personally I still prefer it fresh, as it's still an IPA, and the hops are still the showcase for my palate. But I had a 2008 Celebration either last year or the year prior, and it still tasted good. Almost like an aged Bigfoot Light.

How are peeps liking it this year?

I'm tasting more caramel malt forward, with not a ton of dank piney. Dry finish too, good stuff

Usually the second batch is a touch happier. Has been the tend the last few years. I’m digging the 9/28 batch though.
