As I expected, most people are messaging me for Calvados. I’d say Value wise: Calvados, Scotch=Port, Bourbon. Which is funny because I always think the Bourbon is one of the best every year.

I kind if expected this as well. Not sure how the Calvados tastes from the AB of years past, but given the high cost for onsite consumption of AB, I expected that this would trade this highest.

As someone who also is not much of a fan of Scotch, especially peated, how specifically did you enjoy it? Like what attributes did you find? And I assume the peat was not off-putting. Just curious to know more detailed thoughts.

The peat was not off putting to me, I did however hear folks say it was too much peat. For me, I thought I still got most, if not all of the base beer flavor, along with the barrel. Peat, smoke, and heat. Thought all flavors integrated nicely with the scotch barrel.

I drank a bottle of port last night and I believe the bottle is better than what was available on draft. (edit: they did this with tequilla cake too in 2016. draft was horrible for tequila cake) Just like scotch, port drinks very smooth when a bit colder: lots of balanced chocolate. Ones it warms up, it opens up big time! You will get the full port nose and mouthfeel. My bottle had almost no heat by the way. I'm personally not a huge port fan, but it's really well made if you rank this on what it advertises to be. I imagen this would do well on a share since it's different than most maple/ vanilla stouts.

A well-organized event too by the way. Staff did great by moving the tents far apart

Any word on BA 6th Anniversary release? I was somewhat expecting it to be on tap at BAMC day.

Cocoa nibs, roasted hazelnuts, and vanilla beans with BA treatment sounds like another winner.

Judging by previous years, it will be released mid to late December with a simple post of Facebook a few hours before they open.

Labels have been approved for bourbon and Cabernet variants. The bourbon variant should be great, not sure about the Cabernet variant.

Agreed, Bourbon should be good. Cabernet combined with cocoa nibs, hazelnut, and vanilla should be interesting. I did like the Port BAMC, made for a sweeter take on BAMC.

Any locals know the going rate of 2017 BA Mexican Cakes on the in house cellar list?

Any thoughts on the 7th Anniversary stout? I just had one and thought it was excellent. Anybody know if this is still available in the taproom to go? I know it doesn't show on their website, but they also had a post recently of bottling more.

It's gone from the taproom. I went there last night to grab some bottles and they sold out on Tuesday. I'm shocked how quickly this one disappeared compared to the last several years. I only drank one bottle and thought it was pretty good, too.
