I just picked up two at the HEB Plus in New Braunfels. Haven't had a chance to try it yet though:angry:. Maybe this weekend.

Has anyone seen Avery Rumpkin in Houston?

Could have sworn I saw it at my local HEB over in Vintage Park off of 249. If you want I will check tomorrow when I am out that way

Had it over the weekend. I was blown away. I have another bottle, but if it is still on the shelf this weekend I am getting another one.

To far for me to drive for a beer. Thanks for the offer.

Total Wine West University just got in the Barrel Aged Shiner.

The barrel aged Shiner was impressive! I grabbed an extra this week to age. I know it doesn't help, but I also saw the Avery Rumpkin on the shelf at the Schertz HEB. I would have picked one up, but I already spent so much on stocking up on barrel aged Pumpkinator.

I figure this thread is about dead, due to winter (not really) being upon us, and Christmas/winter beers hitting the shelf. So I'll ask this question, then let the thread sleep until next fall. This season, what were some of your favorite Fall seasonals? For me, these were the top (and ones I'm still scrambling to stock up on before they're gone).

    Hofbrau Oktoberfest
    Live Oak Oaktoberfest
    Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest
    Karbach Karbachtoberfest
    Ayinger Oktoberfest
    Paulaner Weisen

Other greats included Avery Kaiser, ABW Montecore, Saint Arnold oktoberfest (although technically a scotch ale), and Real Ale Oktoberfest.

Still no Rumpkin at my usual haunts.

I had the Barrel Aged Shiner and it was a no go for me. Way to much wood flavor and tart on the back end.

hmm I didn't get any perceived tartness from it, by wood do you mean oak flavor?

More like molded oak. It didn’t sit real well on the finish.

Best Oktoberfest IMHO is Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest. They have it at Total Wine.
