Drinking Waldmann Doppelbock right now, in their Biergarten. Pretty fucking good.

Drinking Schell's Bock right now. Why did I only buy a single can? I have no excuse for that.

I wanted more Schells Bock (12 packs) but it was all gone at a few place i stopped this week. Friday night I picked up a 6er of Schell It’s All Relative bock, the last 6 pack they had. Right now I am drinking a Schell KP.

Does anybody else think Schell bock is slightly different this year compared to the past? I do but I can't really describe it

    I'd agree with that....maybe a touch thinner...still good..

I couldn’t describe it, either. I was drinking it too fast to take anal retentive notes, and now it’s all gone!

(I’ll have to tide myself over ‘til next year with some imports.)

LOL, Go to Yoerg in the next week, I am. Give Dual Citizen a try, it's Ok if you like a slightly burnt Toffee flavor. I found some Bent Paddle earlier today, bought a 6er

    Bah!

I already drank a case of Bent Paddle, two of Mindblock, three of Schell’s, and a couple of other seasonal bocks from around the upper midwest. Now it’s time for summer beers!

I haven't burned on Bocks yet, I will keep drinking them if there somewhat fresh. But I am really getting into Summit Old Blagarrd this past week. Once i start drinking it the 4 pack is gone in two hours or less

Not really, nothing with some variety. One problem is once bock season is over, The worst season of beer starts (early/mid summer)

Back in the olden days, we had Point Bock and Huber Bock year round. Nowadays, a year round, regional bock is less common (Shiner Bock notwithstanding, and it doesn’t really count).

Brau Brothers has just released their bock, and I have yet to try it:

A Point Special just as a palate cleanser was also nice.

Brau Brothers is solid, I have had it in the past but not this year.

I bought a case of Point bock this year, it's ok but wimpy, lighter than a few years ago. Huber Bock is still around. some gone oldies: Berghoff bock, Leinkugels bock of the 80's and 90's (Pre Bigbutt & 1888)

As you reference the Leinenkugel’s Bock of the 1980s, I reckon you bought it regularly beyond the Cheddar Curtain? Leinenkugel had a practically nonexistent market presence in Minnesota until the beginning of the 1990s, at which point it became ubiquitous, and I was a regular buyer of returnable 12 and 24-packs (and Limited in the six-pack throwaways). Great value!

Point Bock was always thin and a bit sub par to my mind, but the fact that it (like Berghoff Bock) was cheap and available year round was a big selling point to me.

I'm a big fan of Bent Paddle Doppelbock. I enjoyed the heck out of it this year.

Also Schell's It's All Relative was pretty much a bock of some sort. It too was quite good.

Bent Paddle Doppelbock is good, I think it's slightly better this year compared to last year. It doesn't fall apart when it gets warm, it did last year some. I think the flavor improved by a Micro amount too.

Just had a good one- Emancipator doppelbock from Spilled Grain. 9%, slightly sweet and nice cherry undertones. A little pricey at $12.00 bomber but it has me thinking about another! The last few things I have had from them have been good, they are doing a nice job!
Similar to Surly’s doppelbock. Liked that one as well!
