Fair point , I was just comparing their crowler prices to fieldwork which run about $11 a can.

Anyone hitting the lambic event in RWC?

Think I saw crowlers of Destroyer of Galaxies going for $13 at FW.

Oh, but Cellarmaker does do crowlers at roughly $11/can. But it depends on the beer.

I think you’re right because I was looking at menu while waiting yesterday and I was surprised to see it was less than a fill for Greetings from Raspberry Park ($15)

Rammed down a considerable amount of lambic this morning/afternoon at GHS. Hommage 2017-18 and the draft Fou were highlights for me but lots of great beer - not quite as chill as last year's event but still killer.

Right on. Draft Fou lasted for a while surprisingly so I was able to get a pour. Ended up with a bottle of Groseille Rouge since I was solo. I had heard unfavorable things about it, but I was pleased with my bottle. Got more of that Tilquin funk out of it than the Geuze draft version.

I was there (at GHS) for a couple hours yesterday morning. I don't have much disposable income right now, so I couldn't go too crazy, but Fou was definitely the highlight for me.

Had Pliny the younger at toronado, small pour and I didn't taste as good as last year's ply. Talked with someone at toronado and they said all releases of ply will come from the Windsor brewery. Last year I had it at city beer and the pour was bigger and tasted delicious, can't put my finger on it but this year's was just different. It was really good but not great. Put off by the small pour and $9 price.

Yeah, when I first tried it back during SFBW2016, it was $7/7oz. SFBY2017 it was $8/6oz. And now I think it's $9/6oz.

Interesting that they only got the Windsor location this time around, and that RR is fine with having two different beers by the same name.

Pliny the Younger was supposedly open top fermented this year which would affect the yeast profile at minimum. I had it at the Bistro Double/Triple IPA fest Saturday. I really enjoyed it. The Cellmaker Triple Mt. Nelson was also extraordinary. This festival at the Bistro is the easiest way to get PTY, you just get taster (5 oz) tickets and use it on whichever of the 100 beers you'd. You can do multiple PTY pours if you card (although they run out after about 2 hours). Incredible range of double and triple IPA from all over (mostly CA - lots of SoCal and Sacramento choices).

Per another thread on PtY release, the Windsor batch was a blend of open and closed top. I believe that is what I had at the IPA fest.

If you're on the Peninsula, I'd recommend keeping an eye on Ghostwood Brewing's events the rest of the week. They're releasing cans of a hazy DIPA and a kettle sour tomorrow - I got to try some of the hazy DIPA from a preview keg and it's excellent. If you're a fan of pastry stouts, they're tapping several versions of their new pastry base, Sweet Embrace, on Saturday. Wake Up Sweet Embrace is already on and dangerously delicious.

Their newly released WC DIPA, Hazeless Bastard, that came out on Saturday is also damn good. Incredibly dry with massive aromatics and hop flavor. If you're sick of haze but still want a huge dose of tropical hops right to the dome, it's a good one to try.

Full disclosure - the brewers are friends of mine so I can't be totally objective, but I also wouldn't try to convince people to go drink shitty beer. Their recent batches are slaying it.

I'm guessing it's for the 'foggy IPA' events tomorrow and on Wednesday

Yeah, I'm from San Diego, I was just up Friday afternoon through this morning - as much fun as it is to hang out with friends and enjoy the vast amount of great beer, I've found that longer trips during SF Beer Week are just rough.
