Also, to piggy back on my previous comment, even if you have no interest in the arcade games (which would be weird, but ok), Emporium has almost always has an excellent draft list, often times with some pretty rare kegs or one-offs.

If you want to stay near Edgewater, Spiteful will likely have the games on and they open early Friday-Sunday. Half Acre Balmoral has a few small screens, usually turned to a tropical fish screen saver or the Nature Channel, but they do put on EPL and would likely put on March Madness if asked. I second the Piece suggestion as well.

Kraz, I'd either hit More Brewing which is 20-30 minutes south of O'Hare, excellent beers and food, or I would go to 3 Floyds in Munster, also home of excellent beers and food.

Stoked Coming To America sequel is in the works, sadly Randolph and Mortimer won't be able to reprise their cameo appearance.

Here's a question for Chicago: A arcade/bar that allows children?

Most restaurants with taplists are a good bet.

Bad Apple has good beers and games, I think.

Mikerphone is outside Chicago, but is actually designed to let kids cartwheel in the taproom.

The only thing that would make me drive out to Mikerphone at this point is if they made a beer called Children's Cartwheel In the Taproom.

    I don't care if it was a excrement-adjuncted Grisette, I'd buy it.

Any helpful suggestions for places around All State Arena? I’ll be there tomorrow (5/27) with a few friends for a concert, and would like to grab a few drinks beforehand. Food would be nice, but not a deal breaker. We’ll have a vehicle, but not looking to travel too far out of the way. Thanks.

Short Fuse Brewing has a taproom/restaurant close by. Mikerphone is close by too but will be closed for their fest.

Heading to Chicago Memorial day weekend for a couple of days and thanks to @lloydboss and everyone posting to this thread, very good info in here. Are a lot of these breweries reachable by subway or is uberring it the way to go? Probably will be staying in the Mag Mile/Loop area and wondering the best way to get to at least a few of these that have been recommended. Played around on google maps and came up with this when looking myself, thought it might be helpful to others.

I’ll take some Kane and some magnify, please.

Some of the city ones are reachable via a combinations of el and bus, although you may want to rideshare to maximize time. If the weather is nice, you can also walk between a number of breweries that are in clusters (e.g. dovetail, Half Acre and begyle).

    Weird/specific request for some info...

I'll be staying very briefly in Chicago at the Waldorf Astoria. I've seen google maps refer to this area as "River North" or "Magnificent Mile", but I don't know if those descriptors are particularly useful for searches etc.

Are there any places around there where I will be able to buy beer to-go after 9pm on Friday? I have plans to try and get some pizza and some beer and bring it back to my hotel room, but I'm getting into town kinda late.

Failing that, whats the best beer bar in walking distance? Thanks!

If the movies taught me anything about the Waldorf Astoria then you should just kick back in a bathrobe and let them worry about bringing you all the good beer and pizza you tell them you want.

Your best bet might be Whole Foods if it's after 9 pm (either the Gold Coast or Streeterville location). They close at 10 pm. Binny's Downtown would be a great option, but they close at 9. For a beer bar by you, I'd walk down to Timothy O'Toole's.

I'll second what @croush said. It doesn't have the selection of Binny's but there is a Whole Foods on Huron in River North six blocks south of your hotel. Again, opened til 10pm. Not a bad selection and I've been surprised a few times with some harder to find beers. For pizza in your area I'd recommend either Lou Malnati's just north of your hotel (open til midnight or 1am) or Gino's East (they close earlier though). I'll also second Timothy O'Toole's which is great but looks like about a 12 block walk from your hotel. They have some of my favorite burgers downtown (get the Chicago Fire if you like things spicy) as well as really tasty pub/bar food. They always have a great draft list too and plenty of tv's. Ironside Bar & Galley and Monk's Pub are both pretty good but a little further away.

Timothy O'Toole's keeps an updated draft list on Untappd, Ironside keeps their updated list on the BeerMenus app (a great app for beer drinkers in Chicago) and Monk's keeps their updated draft list on both Untappd and BeerMenus app. enjoy your trip!!
