But what better accompaniment to a robe and a room at the WA than a pizza and some beer!

Thanks @CaptainFleeker and @croush for the help. Lou Malnati's is on my agenda and it sounds like Whole Foods will fit the bill for the beer. I'll check out the bars too.... thanks!

Maybe this is the wrong thread for this, but I'll be taking the Amtrak into town and staying the Ravenswood area for a few nights. What'd be the best spot to pick up some train beers for the return trip? I'll likely have some baggage too. Cheers.

If you’re getting on the train near Ravenswood (I have no idea where your train would be making stops, so not sure if that’s a correct assumption), then I’d suggest Bottles & Cans.

Sorry, that was an unnecessary bit of information. I'll be getting on the train at Union Station. But thank you regardless, I might just throw some stuff in my bag.

I would still probably go somewhere like Bottles & Cans, if you can access it. If you’re only looking for a small amount, just go there with a backpack and you can split up any 4/6 pack they have to buy singles (although I think you have to buy a minimum of 4 singles altogether).

Just walk over to Ogilvie train station which is very close to Union Station and check out the French Market. They have some good beers to go.

Huge thanks for all the recommendations on the thread guys, was in Chicago for a couple of days last weekend and found the info here great. Managed to hit Half Acre, Revolution, Maplewoods, Corridor (Even got there for the Cosmic Juicebox can release), Binny's and Bitter Pops. All were great and just wish I had some more time to go relax in them - still managed to pack the bags pretty well for the trip home

Also big shout out to @4lokogod for inviting me to an amazing bottle share and also providing strategic advice on where to stay to maximize my time!

Meant to also ask: any spots with dog-friendly patios? My friends might have their dog. thank you!

In the Loop? Not really. Maybe pass up good beer and go drink whatever's available along the riverwalk. They have a couple of patios that can probably accommodate dogs. Great atmosphere on nice summer days, but couldn't name a single one the bars there.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and went to Haymarket which has an outdoor patio and is dog friendly. I know Cruz Blanca a block or 2 away also has some outdoor seating so that may be an option also for dogs. Found this to be a great area to hit a number of places as Au Cheval has a great tap list also and there is a pizza place next door (Lone Wolf) that apparently always has a bunch of Three Floyds on tap.

Any coffee enthusiasts know if there are any coffee shops in the city that sell their cold brew to go? I know dark matter has cans some times (or maybe just that once), but I am not aware anyone else sells to go. Thank you!

I've had cans of Passion House's cold brew before. It's been a while though so I'm not sure if they still can it.

Metropolis sells their cold brew in 12oz bottles and can be found at most grocery stores.
