The Limited Edition Bottle, the brew projects, and *cross fingers* the anniversary party.

Ok cool. It seems like they could be a little less vague because I didn't get the sense beer was at all included in that membership. It says first to know about brew projects, so that would imply nothing is included, just you'll know when and where they are being released. Were you a member last year or did you know someone who was?

    Keeping:
    SARA
    Modern Times
    Private Press

    Dropping:
Casey - just too much hassle and expense to get the bottles here from Colorado. Really only a fan of their unfruited beers in any case, and SARA has me covered for my saison needs.

    Adding:
    Likely nothing, but we'll see.

If you like constant emails about beers/info, you might not enjoy this club. If you only care that they deliver the promised beers when they are ready, it’s definitely worth it. I’ve been in since it restarted a couple years back, and this year was the best group of beers yet. Plus we got extra chances to grab DDG and Cable Car vintages. We still haven’t even gotten the 2 most exciting beers for 2020, which should land soon, and I thought this year was excellent.

Next year they have already announced Cable Car, Cable Car Kriek, a collab with a well known east coast brewer and priory access to DDG 2022. To me, it was an easy renew.

Super curious how the new Yellow Bus turned out.

I’m an inaugural member of the Horus Convocation. I debated dropping it when year 3 came around because I was not thrilled with the year 2 releases (besides Coconut and Hazelnut Crown), but I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve been very satisfied with the releases this year. Double Dose is probably tied with Hypermash Hydra as the best stout I’ve had this calendar year. Also, literally every release for year 3 so far has been member-only (with generous allotments), which has made it nice and exclusive. I like those kind of benefits. Will definitely be re-upping for year 4 when it comes around.

Keeping Cellador, and that's it for me here in LA.

I wasn't entirely happy with their syndicate releases this year, which I think have moved toward the direction of gimmicky stuff as opposed to elegance. I think they make the best stonefruit sours in the country, but I also wish they had more clean beers and maybe work with aged hops and different cultures to play around.

They are still my favorite sour makers in SoCal alongside Homage, and I love their taproom.

I'm sure it will be good but I'd bet Peach Afternoon is a better beer than the original Yellow Bus.

I really quite enjoyed Stellar Cellar. But I know - that only happened because of a partnership.

    Keeping:
    • Bruery HS - Still my favorite membership
    • MT League - Was on the fence this year, primarily due to the 10 AM click fest sales, which were a nightmare for me, even with a fairly good success rate. But they cleaned it up with the lotteries. So I'm in for another year.
    • Order of the Anvil - Price/Value is a bit high especially for an out of towner, but I enjoy the beer enough to renew.
    Nothing added or dropped.

Was thinking about Highland Park Bottle Friends

I wasn't too fond of that one meself. I did like Diglossia with Dry River.

Other than that, their best releases this year have been public: Jia, Rossier, Anniversary beers, Spectacular Commodity, Mas, Le Con, Jungle Boneyard, Brett d'Or, Gourde...

I don't remember when Anitya came out, but that was fantastic too.

I'm a big fan of their stuff so I actually decided to join this year. Excited to try some of the member only stuff they put out, plus they are located like 5 miles from my house, so it was an easy addition.

I’ve been out of beer memberships over the past couple of years and it will stay that way for awhile. Most of my beer purchases has been from breweries that don’t have memberships.

That said, I would love to be part of SARA Cellar; Homage if they started one; Monkish to avoid the hassle of clickfests for their BA stouts/barleywine.

Well worth it imo. They put out a lot of fantastic stuff that deserves mention alongside the top players of the US sour world: Homage, SARA, Side Project, Floodland, HF, etc.

I would definitely look to join Homage. Anyone has any news about their LA plans and how the COVID crisis might have affected it?

I am pretty annoyed at the fact that, even living in LA, it is basically impossible for me to get any Homage releases unless I trade, because of the hoarders that bulk buy immediately to resell and/or trade.
