2021 Beer Memberships: Adding, Keeping or Dropping?

To each their own in this case. I personally found the two that I had impressive. Regret is never fun, but if you do have it with that membership you just know to put your dollars somewhere else in the future, right? Ah, the joy of life.

 

How do you know you’re adding Forager? Isn’t that being done by lottery?

 

I'm rather new to memberships and in the middle of the state so traveling to CHI or STL every month can be cumbersome but I am a new member to Perennial (have family there so it's not a visit to STL for just beer )

 

Keeping: Phase Three and Horus
Dropping: Transient
Adding: Forager
Like many people have stated Transients stuff just sticks around for awhile on the website. Don't really need the ability to order early anymore.

 

Keeping: Sante adarius, Pips
Dropping: Ale apothecary
Adding: probably not any
Ale apothecary is a great club and a pretty good value if you don’t include the cost of shipping and thank you beers. My proxy stopped proxying and it made it difficult. Probably $500 by the time it was all said and done for 12 bottles. A couple world class beers. Several great beers and a couple that were misses for me. Overall I would recommend.

 

You dropped Floodland?? Boy o boy!

 

I bought a membership right after they opened their Muskego place and definitely won't be renewing when the time comes... I don't know if it's a yeast thing but their hazies are always gross to me, almost like a rotten fruit flavor. Their stouts are too sweet and syrupy. Their slush beers are mostly good until they try to make it a double or triple version then its just a bitter boozey mess.

how did people like their beer memberships?

i only had whiskey hill. So far, the beers have been pretty good. There was other stuff included in the membership, but I haven’t heard anything about it. The BA beers without the membership are…. very expensive, to me at least. I’ll probably keep the membership for next year, if we can renew.

anyone angling for new memberships? Dropping existing ones? Renewing?

Got an email from Oznr. Looks like Phase 3 and More will have memberships available thru the app. Wonder if they will be lotteries or first come first serve.

I guess Phase 3 is not going thru the waitlist. I was on it and haven’t gotten an invite

 

Saw that. I emailed them a few times about getting on the wait list and didn't hear back. Guess we'll find out soon. Partially related. I get zero Oznr notifications but have every possible notification turned on for that app. Anyone else not get them? I'm on iOS

 

I’ve wanted to do Funk Factory so badly. What do you get? Do they hold the bottles if you can only come up once a month or so.

 

This seems like an oxymoron, so I'm curious what you get as a member? (I'm poking fun not at you, the brewery/membership, or the beers, but craft culture as a whole. But, I wouldn't think the lagers would fly off the shelf so quickly that a membership is needed, so I'm interested.)

 

You get a bottle every 2-3 months, a glass, early access to all releases including some that don't go public. It's a solid deal and should be open in a month or two I'm guessing. Members just got a renewal invite this week.

They want you to pick up your bottles during the weekend of the release but they definitely hold bottles for months if necessary.
