That’s what I did talking about MT abandoning their Bay Area members. I think that horse is dust now, but they’ll never get another dime from me.

Your reaction seems to be pretty typical. I can't recall the last time I read anything positive about MT, and at least in this thread, pretty much no one seems to be interested in maintaining their club membership.

I renewed my Urban Roots (Sacramento brewery) Roots Club. You basically pay $300 to get 20% off at their brewery and BBQ place and two of their other restaurants as well. I kept track of how much I spent last year and ended up about even so figured I would do it again this year (plus their beer across all styles is awesome). Another feature that is nice is the ability to order ahead of time and have it brought out to your car (parking can be tricky where they're at). I'll order a couple of 4 packs before leaving work, pull up and have it brought to my car, and then keep going on my way.

Keeping: HPB Bottle Friends. For the same reasons as everybody else.

Moksa Advocators: Love the guarantee of getting a bottle of pretty much every release. Love the stouts. And the release day lines are epic. Bottle shares like old times. Plus the members Jamboree is one great big bottle share. Knocked a lot of my wants off there.

Most likely dropping: Horus. After being a member for 4 years I think I've had enough. Some beers are excellent while many are meh. And $50 - $70 for a single bottle doesn't help much either. This last year I didn't renew until the very last day so who knows.

    Possibly Joining:
    Mostra Experience
If I can be so lucky as to get into Private Press I'd definitely join.
Would love to get into Phase 3 Ambassadors to. Idk if they allow proxies though.

MT posted about League memberships being available on Instagram a few days ago and every single comment was negative, not one person coming in with "they're under new ownership and I'm going to give them a chance..."

They do not allow proxies (coming from a current member that wishes they’d allow proxies)

So I have been eyeing HPB Bottle Friends. How difficult is it getting a membership?

Bottle Friends starts the new year in April 1st. Looks like last year they had some "wait list" mechanism to cycle in new folks. Probably worth asking next time you're there (or emailing them at [email protected])

    From March 1st '22 email:
"Waitlister's are grabbing those spots. While the initial window after the sale opens to waitlisters is always the most active, it's looking less likely that it will hit public sale based on the current trajectory (though not impossible, but if it does will likely go pretty immediately)."

I'm going to dump Horus and try for HPB in 2023. Would love to get into Private Press as well, missed the lightning fast sale this year.
I liked several of the Horus beers, but at the price of admission, they should all be bangers and they are not.
If I cant get into any memberships, no biggie. Ill just buy Bottle Logic releases and be happy as clam.

    Added/Adding

Brewlihan- membership started two months ago! Mead has been delicious and communication is top notch.

Zymarium- After adding a year and a half ago, they finally got their license and completed their first sale last week. Hoping for world class mead like their pre production.

Everywhere- Stoked about this! Best guys in the business. First stout was world class and hoping the rest are the same!

    Kept!
Sara Cellar- Best in the game and a no brainer!

Private press- Love what brad is doing and i feel like this year was stellar!

Eight State- Love their non ba pastry! Has been a good club with quality pastry stouts!

Honeypot- Love the mead! As long as nothing drastic changes ill keep as its the only way they will ship to me!

Standard- Top tier mead! I look forward to every bottle!

Culling- up in the air on keeping. Renewals haven't happened yet, so not sure of the details. Mead has been pretty good, just not as excited about it as he can be hit or miss.

    Dropping

Modern times. Easy drop for me and for the same reasons mentioned here a million times!
