2023 Beer Memberships: Adding, Keeping, and Dropping

Considering: Alma Mader Madera

Anyone a current member at Alma Mader and have thoughts about their membership program? I know it's in its infancy, but thought I'd still ask. Is it worth it for a non-local?

 

curious on the LC issues. this seems like one of, if not the most, desired memberships

 

I said my issues (with la coterie), not la coteries issues itself. I'm an angry elf, I can find issues with everything.

 

Sadly , floodland recently decided to get rid of their waitlist, which is how I got in way back when. This is from their September 2022 newsletter:

“We have done away with the Oakworks wait list as it was many decades long. Oakworks invitations at this point are entirely done via charitable fundraisers.”

 

Keeping: Phase Three

Dropped: Manic (great stuff and people but just a bit to far)

Added: Southern Grist (have had tons of there stuff and almost all if is really good and a good friend lives there so I got a proxy so we’ll give it a shot)

 

Technically nobody is keeping Barclay since Brian said he is kicking everyone out & requiring everyone to sign up in a brand new club

Also not like it matter since you’d be lucky to get beer before 2025 at this point.

 

I'm ok waiting. That's how the first membership period was too. The beer is excellent and was stated it would take a while.

 

He for sure made it know it would take a while. There wasn’t any misleading there. And the beer was good. It’s more a I don’t need cases of beer sitting in the basement deal.

 

For all my kvetching...I re-upped on P3 a few days ago.

They made a vague mention that membership bottles may NOT be all Eunoias, and that was enough to spark hope for some non-sweetened stouts.

I'll make a mental note to not bitch on here next year when I'm traveling 40 miles to get my cinnamon-maple-coconut-vegemite beer with no barrel character.

 

I'll be more than willing to take your Eunoias off your hands lol
