    Everything they made, to my knowledge, was a berliner with gobs of lactose and fruit/candy. It is on par with 450 North.

    Their guest taps looked solid.

    Ah. So nothing to do with traditional weiss or Viking heritage beers :grin: I guess the market can only handle so many 450s and RARs and Hoosiers and Drekkers

    Staying in NWI, mercifully Chesterton Brewing went away a few months ago. One less bad Indiana brewery...

    Perhaps we need to start a Brewery closings: Indiana thread. There are a couple more worth keeping an eye on in 2024.

    Definitely not. From the photos I saw online, think neon colored beers a la Troll So Hard and Haterade from J. Wakefield.

    So I used to maintain a Google Map of all Chicagoland breweries, and I haven't updated it since before COVID. Finally getting around to checking it out again and have some questions on a few breweries:

    Karetas Brewing - still active? I believe they brew out of Church Street.

    Cahoots Brewing - no updates since 2022. I think they were contracting out of ZumBier?

    Old Town Abbey Ales - another Church Street contract brand, looks like no updates since 2018?

    Hopothesis - Haven't seen this brand in forever, I know Finch took it over at one point. The BA listing gives an address somewhere down state? My guess this is long gone.

    D. Litch's Beer - This was inside a Mexican restaurant in Wilmette. Not sure if still active.

    LaGrow Organic Beer - I think they are still around but does anyone know where they brew?

    BellyUp Brewing - no updates in a while, did they go BellyUp?

    Sour Note - this was a sour only brewery opened by 18th St, a new brewery has taken over that space. (Foreign Local) anyone know when this closed exactly? Sounds like 2021 or before.

    Omega Yeast - they were supposed to open their own taproom right? Any news?

    Not sure on dates, but Sour Note closed its doors during the pandemic amid the shrinking reach of 18th Street. Their Gary brewpub was also sold, but kept the name.

    It showed up in my Twitter feed that Howard Street Brewing is closing with a hint at something to come in the future.

    If hell is real, I'm pretty sure it would still be better than the Gun Craft Taproom.

    Yes, they're still active. They periodically release stuff out of Open Door taproom & bottleshop in Clarendon Hills. I do believe they brew out of Church Street.

    Definitely still active - they were brewing out of Smylie Brothers location for a while, but Im not sure where they ended up since Smylie closed.

    LaGrow COLAs from 2019 mention Grand Central Brewing Company. Not sure if still there?
    Had not read about the 18th Street Gary location. Interesting. Just had a Hunter variant #linelyfe flashback. <shudder>
