Well, now I know why I can't easily find fresh Bitter American. 21st Amendment has stopped shipping it. It will be replaced with a revised recipe and rebranded as Down To Earth, a session IPA.

21st Amendment tells me that Down To Earth will be released in March.

    Here's the new can artwork:

Oh boy. Another session IPA hits the market replacing a different style. (He says dripping with sarcasm.)

I'm sorry. I'm just over the session IPA business.

I picked up a case of Bitter American today. I will savor it.

Agree. I thought Bitter American was a pretty solid choice. Especially in the warmer weather.

Bitter American's already a session IPA in all but name, and it's been in production since well before the session IPA boom.

(Which is to say, I have no idea why they'd decide to switch one for the other.)

They're essentially the same beer, guys. Exact same ABV and IBU. This is more of a rebranding effort.

I don't necessarily disagree with this but the BA had more of a full bodied taste to me than a lot of the "session" IPAs I have tasted.

Agreed. I find Bitter American to have a more prominent malt base than most session IPAs.

Bitter American is one of my favorite beers - hope the new name doesnt change the recipe much...

True. That's why I tend to like it more than most session IPAs that call themselves session IPAs.
