I'm having a hard time locating these bad boys. Even a 17 ounce snifter. Do any of the brewery web sites carry them? Or is my best bet going to Targets, J.C. Penny, or Pier One? Where have you gotten yours?
I'm pretty sure that the definitive "snifter" term would be somewhat reserved to only a few companies that conform to the specific shape, while some are a little more loose with the term, calling their tulips, globes, and flared lip "snifter-esque" stemware a snifter, when they are varying from the cognac or brandy style snifter, that does not have a flared lip, and has the proper angle between the width of the stem foot, and the diameter of the globe. Some breweries that carry the style would be Cigar City, Dogfish Head, Duck-Rabbit and Founders. While Founders "Snifter" is more of a globe or wide tulip, Founders' CBS snifter does hold 22 oz with no head, and is one of the largest out there, and typically sells out quickly when a new shipment is listed on the web store. Dogfish I think discontinued their snifter in favor of their signature glass, and I think that CCB's is much smaller. If you can live with some non-style conforming glass shapes, check out Founders italicized text snifter (globe), Portsmouth's globe, and Brooklyn Brewing's snifter (globe). Deschutes, Unibroue and Stone also make this shape, most calling it a snifter, when that's not 100% accurate. I was able to pick up 4-8 oz snifters, non-branded, at a second-hand store for $0.45 a piece, so I recommend checking there. Otherwise, go to the dollar store. I've seen some badass glassware there.
Hey, thanks a lot fellers! It appears Founders has the snifter on their web sit, but they don't specify the size.
I believe the standard Founders snifter on the site now is 13.5 oz. 22 oz CBS snifter hasnt been sold out since May I believe.
Bought this one. Nice sized but a lil thin. Probably around 17oz http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/46315600/
