i'm not from SD but my recommendation would be go to Bottlecraft (and stop at Ballast Point which is a few blocks away)

Bottlecraft can buy bottles, drink beer. not sure if you'll find Noble or Kern but you will find lots of great stuff

 

Go checkout Best Damn Beer shop. Very solid beer selection

 

If he has two hours, he should hit the Bottlecraft near the airport, Best Damn Beer Shop (as it is relatively close), then go hit Bine & Vine if he is has time and/or is headed that direction.

If he's headed north, getting off in Carlsbad and hitting Texas Liquors might be worthwhile, too.

Yeah. Don't worry about kern or noble and stock up on alpine.

 

Kern and Noble are far easier to find than Alpine.

 

Not if you're stopping at Alpine on your way to Yuma
