    Will there be one this year? I guess this can be a speculation thread, for now (I hope).

    Hard to believe it has been 2 years missed already, but I hope this year will be the year we see Dark Lord Day return. Society has been figuring out how to live with Covid more so for some time now, many are vaccinated or have had some sort of exposure to the virus, more businesses are adopting the whole proof of vaccination or negative test model for operating in the new environment, and it’s an outdoor event. Plus it’s Indiana, not Illinois, so should be easier to accept this kind of an event being held.

    On the other hand, now that we’ve trained 3Floyds that we’re willing to accept paying same price for beer only without the event, maybe they aren’t all that motivated to ever put one on again.

    I’ve been to 5 DLDs and the more I attended them, they became more about the event than just the beer to me, so I’d like to see the event return, personally.

    Drank a '21 Handjee with friends the other day. It was spectacular. Only other time having it was the '19 vintage in March 2020.

    Yas! I wasn't going to be the one to start this, but wondered how long before the thread was started. Now starting Guncraft 2022 and BCBS 2022 threads are on the clock.

    I think they will continue with the current drive through model. Takes too much advance planning, permits, scheduling city assets, hiring people (no brewpub/distilling staff to assist with those closed), etc.

    I'd suggest this thread be for all things Three Floyds and formally re-named.

    The legend of the Dark Lord Day threads are long since dead, since there's no actual shit-show festival anymore.

    Agreed. Last year's threads were kind of a mess, so we're not doing that again this year.

    This will be for all 3 Floyds related talk for the time being. If they formally announce a Dark Lord Day 2022, have at a separate thread.

    And for the record, Im guessing we should all be geting ready for Dark Lord Drivethru Days 2022

    That would be amazing if you could preorder lunch with your allocation; massive grill pits in every lane with large flames wafting copious amounts of smoke over the lot while heavy metal drumming vibrations shake your car as you wait leaves you pondering whether you’ve entered into a 3rd world civil war or if you are still picking up your beer.

    thoughts on ASB: not my favorite DL variant of all time but certainly not my least favorite. the Sauternes barrels, if i had to guess, make up at least 50% of the blend. definitely seemed the dominant barrel to me. so you get that sweetness on top of regular DL sweetness, with more of a spirit barrel sting on the finish. it’s a sipper for sure.

    Barrel-Aged Behemoth released, per Instagram. For purchase at their Kiosk and will see distribution. Curious about the price but bottle format alone, 4 pack of 12oz bottles, has piqued my interest enough to seek it out. Straight Jacket will be the measuring stick for the style.

    All right now, you trolling? LOL..it's just blowing my mind right now how much to dislike New Glarus but how much you like BA Behemoth. Don't get me wrong, I like it too, but most people I run into these days don't just turn their nose up at it, but actively hate it.

    I saw BA Blot Out the Sun at Binny’s. I’ve never had it…so how does it compare to other BA things in Chicago? Figured it would be worth a gamble at 24.99.
