So I heard the brewery burnt down but me and 7 others are making the trip this Sunday anyway. We plan on getting there 15-30 mins before they open. Im the only true craft beer enthusiast, the others are going for the experience, food, and great tap beer. What can we expect wait wise? Anyone with some insight would be appreciated. Havent been up in a while .

You will be fine to just show up at open. The only time I've ever arrived at open and had a wait was the day after DLD.

Why did you go back the day after?

I was around and knew they still had some BA beers on tap. Also curious to see if they would be selling any leftover bottles.

I know that Sunday is different than Saturday, but this past Saturday, there were probably 40-50 people in line at 11:45.

But - the capacity of the place is over 100, so that means that you were seated, and drinking, by 12:05.

I live 10 minutes from Floyds, and I will not even attempt to go there during tourist season (Post DLD to Labor Day), unless its a weekday afternoon, and even then it can be a crap shoot. Every other car in the parking lot is from outside of the tri-state area - I've seen Colorado, Vermont, New York, Quebec.....All on the same day! So, this is my favorite time of the year - generally no waiting (unless you go during rush hour).

Plus, I have to say, while everyone likes to bitch about the wait at 3 Floyds, to their credit, I've never ever felt rushed to finish a beer so that they can churn the table. Think about that....You are likely waiting because someone else pretty much exactly like you is enjoying a brew without being rushed. There is something to be said for that.

Did they sell you any bottles? I've been there a handful of times, never had to wait and thought the food was really really good.

Chances are there might be a small line 15 minutes before they open. Waiting for them to open and get everyone seated will be your only wait. Including the 15 minute wait for them to open I'm guessing you'll wait 20-25 minutes max.
Sundays at open are better than Saturdays.
The cold weather/time of year work in your favor.
The only variable that might be a bit unpredictable is V day. You might get a bit more of a crowd based on that.

I go there pretty much every week and weekend, and the only times I've ever had to wait in line were during peak dinner hours and the days before/after DLD as Munster sees an influx of people trying to be on FFF premises.

Nope. I never expected any such thing but hoped for some kind of surprise. They just had left over BA Black Sun I believe.

At least every release on Tuesday, occasionally will make it down on the weekend for dinner.

From my experience in the past few months if you show up at open on Saturday you will wait at least an hour. They slowly fill up the place to not overwhelm the kitchen staff so it takes a few hours to get it filled up. Sunday is usually less busy...I've walked in at open to a less than half packed restaurant. Moral of story, Sundays are much better than Saturdays...

I think getting there at open is key. We showed up this last Saturday at 2pm and the wait for a table was 2.5 hours. The wait in line to buy bottles was 40 minutes.

You can expect a bit of a wait unless you're the first 2 or 3 groups in line. But chances are 20 minutes before they open will probably have a couple groups already lined up and waiting. As mjmadsen21 said: at opening they don't overwhelm the kitchen staff so they SLOWLY seat people....maybe a group every 5 minutes.

These wait times may have been skewed last Saturday based on the fact that Zombie Dust was back on sale for the first time in a little while.

Protip: If there is a long wait to get into FFF, give them your phone number and they will give you a call when they think there are 10-15 minutes left before something opens up. After you do this, leave and go check out a place called Beer Geeks at 3030 45th Street in Highland. Place is located about 3 miles east of FFF. You won't be disappointed.

Saturday afternoons they do tours as well, which adds to the insanity vs. a Sunday.
