How far would you have to drive to get Two Hearted? I ask as there's no way I'd personally give up FW, even with the hoops I have to go through to get Pivo.

    Can you find it fresh?

Over the weekend I had a 6-pack of Pivo in my hands (with the intention of buying it) but when I saw that it had an early March packaging date I put it back down. Having access to Firestone Walker beers but invariably they are old is not much of a choice IMO.

    Cheers!

Yes, but I have to go to the source (Paso Robles or Venice Beach). I've got friends in both areas, so the inconvenience is lessened. Right now though can get it shipped to the doorstep.

Lose Rogue, Breckenridge, and Victory (I would not have given up Victory a few years ago, but all they send are Monkey variants now). Gain Firestone Walker.

Drop Lost Coast, 21st Amendment, and Hop Union in exchange for Rhinegeist

Any guess on why you have to go directly to the brewery in order to find fresh FW beers? Are they doing something 'wrong' in their distribution aspects of their business?

As a contrasting story earlier today while I was grocery shopping I purchased a 6-pack of Bell's Two Hearted that is less than a month old (and this is not unusual for me to find fresh Bell's beers).

    Cheers!

My local distributor doesn't bring Pivo into my market. The stuff they do stock (that I buy) is usually pretty good freshness wise. Think the last time I grabbed some Union Jack it was 2 weeks old and on sale for $9/6er. Can't comment on freshness of the stuff I don't buy like 805 and Mind Haze.

You are much more fortunate than I am.

There are plenty of FW beer brands on my local beer retailers' shelves (including Pivo Pils) but they are invariably many months old.

    Cheers!

My experience matches @jakecattleco , what Firestone Walker beers we do get are very reasonable in terms of freshness, we don't get Pivo though

We used to get it, until a disagreement with a distributor and Bells. :slight_frown: Cheers!

I would have to drive 30 minutes, which is no problem.

Getting fresh FW, I have to go to Paso Robles, not a problem as I have been there, but I don’t feel like driving cross country in this disease scenario! (we don’t get it fresh) Cheers!

This is surprising! Rhinegeist beers I think are solid for the most part, but I feel like there’s Ohio breweries much higher on the list. I never really go out of my way to buy Rhinegeist myself.

I completely understand dropping Lost Coast and 21st though.

Trying to stick to the premise of real regional breweries. But if available rhinegeist ipas and pales would be a constant fixture in my fridge. Really some of the best value hoppy beers that I've encountered for my palate

I am pretty happy with what is available in NE Ohio from local, regional and national craft brewers. My vote is to stay with what I have. (Did I miss the point? I do that a lot)

Don't we have enough old beer from out of the area on our shelves?

I know, and trading is pretty fun but I'm tired of people coming into shops asking for Trillium and Funky Buddha as I'm sure people on the east coast get tired of people asking for Mikkeller SD or Beachwood lol
