A lot going on and crickets it has been crickets.

Family Member lottery winners were announced Sunday night and the they divulged that BA Scoop would be a part of round 2. What did the round 1 Family Members think of the club?

Lumberjack Day is less than 2 weeks away. I’m going to session 2 and looking forward to my first visit to the brewery. Anyone else going?

    I'll be going session one.

As far as the membership I was out of town for first run, but I heard people were maybe butthurt it wasn't an all exclusive royal membership. Basically only 2 bottles were exclusive to members only. One of them a Berliner (which I loved when I had it in house) and the other BA PB King (which I also super loved in huse).

The shit lords and people with unreasonable expectations were the unhappy ones. The membership was really good and the best part was the members party in August. They had some one off BA stout blends and let us cuvée them all to make crazy beers. The bananas foster beer (that was double barrel aged in rum and bourbon) cuvéed with PB king was prob the best adjunct stout I drank last year. And I had 5-6 pours of it at the fest.

The bottles were all good. That said I’m hopping for higher level beers this year. And by that I mean they’ve been in their own brewery for a year now, so beers will have been brewed on their system and aged in barrels at their facility. Should have more barrels to pick and choose from to blend stouts etc. In short, what was really good last year could be great this year.

I was at 3 Sons down from Pgh about a week ago - loved their stuff - great brewery - question though - i was kinda blown away at a 500ml BA was like $35-$40 - I know the stuff is rated high and quite good - but is that normal price range??

Yeah - unfortunately - I didn't get to make it there - hopefully next time. Prices just seemed fairly high to me for a 500ml - not like i've NEVER seen that before, but there was a little sticker shock.

Yes, its in house only. I honestly don't have a problem with it. Westbrook and JWB do it as well. I'm sure there's plenty of others, those are just the ones I have experience with. You basically price it high enough that it isn't going to sell out instantly but low enough that it isn't highway robbery (okay... sometimes some places blur the line on that one). I've had a couple of onsite bottles at JWB and 3 Sons, all for special occasion type stuff.
