The Fort George-Breakside-Gigantic collaboration, right? Because our palates are seriously different, if so.

I thought the same thing. Bought a 4 pack yesterday and was a little bit let down for some reason. I love all three breweries too. I think it was the yeast strain they used. It was like a hoppy California Common. It was alright and I will gladly drink the other cans, but it just wasnt great to me.

Based on the reviews so far, this beer sounds like it could be right up my alley (negative comments notwithstanding). Could those of you who liked it corroborate that the descriptions in these reviews are fairly accurate, or if not what you thought was different? Also, where in Seattle can I find it now?

Not a fan of this one at all.

On the flip, the 4 day old Vortex I had yesterday blew me away, completely different from any can I've had to date.

Yup I'd agree with the flavor profile and nose, look and mouthfeel. WriterLJberg nails it in his description. I just enjoy a harsh bitter heavily aromatic citrus IPA more than any other type of IPA. I'd agree that there isn't a lot of hop oil flavors but still thought it was good. I'll grab a vortex and 3-way again today.
    Cheers!

I grabbed one of the two tallboys (singles, not four-pack) I saw at Bottleworks when I picked up XII on Tuesday. I thought I had seen it somewhere else as well, so I know it's about, just apparently not in great quantities.

Vortex is awesome. It's been my recent crave beer. I will surely enjoy many other great IPA's, but for some reason I always come back to this one lately.

Just tried my lone tallboy tonight. I didn't dislike it, but there are too many other solid IPA offerings to go for this again anytime soon (if they brew it again), and I probably preferred Vortex to it. It smelled like an IPA, but it didn't taste like an IPA if that makes any sense. Maybe not. I'll be happy to return to the rest of my Descender sixer when I'm jonesin' for an IPA this weekend.

The Barrel Aged version is amazing. The only word that comes to mind is JUICY. Best BA IPA I have had to date.

Thread inspired me to pick up a 3-Way and Vortex today after work @ Last Drop. I didn't enjoy 3-Way as much as I'd hoped, but it wasn't bad either. Vortex is just a riddle wrapped in an enigma and whatnot; really a puzzler but I enjoyed it. Best part? 32oz of beer for under $6. I can't remember the last time I spent so little money on a beer run.

This thread has restored my faith in the NW forum:slight_smile: I wish all our threads were like this!!
    Me: I like beer X
You all: cool although I didn't like it that much.
Me: yup but we sure gotta lot good options either way.
You all: yes we do so I'll pick it up after work to test it out and if I don't like it, I'll go back to my other incredible Pnw options!
Me: sounds good! Thank god we don't have to wait for weeks for fresh daisy cutter and zombie dust right?
    You all: exactly
    ((clink clink clink))
Let's get together and do a bottle share soon everyone!
    Cheers

Fun fact: The 3 Way is actually fermented with the lager yeast they use for the 1811, so it's technically an "India Pale Lager", or whatever the hell you want to call it.
