I agree with the pFriem aspect which dominates. But Georgetown also is a very popular regular person brewer.
Maybe thats what they were going for this year?

Yeah, by the time I finished my 4-pack, I was pretty much sold. Obviously different from last year but I'm just as happy with it as a super-drinkable summer IPA. Haven't had Overdub yet though so I'll have to see which one wins out for me.

Last years suicide squeeze and 3-Way were both better in my opinion. I still think overdub and this years 3-way are good beers, just not quite there.

Suicide Squeeze was probably my beer of the year.
Awesome for a Session style IPA

A smart football coach. Tha Seacowz had to throw the ball at least once in that series, to stop the clock. Handoff to Skittles on that play (which everyone expected, including Belicheck) and Skittles gets stuffed behind the line, the Ospreys have to burn a TO, and the Pats win any way. I'm not even an NFL fan, and I saw that was the way they had to play that scenario. Petey boy screwed up a couple plays before that, when the Pats didn't call a TO and let the clock run.

It'll be debated until the end of time, and we'll never know what might have been. But I still believe had they given it to Lynch he'd have powered it into the end zone (regardless what anyone expected), at which point they wouldn't have needed to stop the clock. With 1 yard to go, give it to your most reliable, tenacious running back, especially in the red zone, instead of taking a high-risk chance on a short pass to a middling receiver in lots of traffic. Pete just got a little too cute trying to outsmart Belichick, and should have known better.

Had Overdub on tap at Growler Guys this afternoon. Really good stuff. It's pretty much eclipsing 3-Way 2015 for me at the moment.

I thought it was OK but nothing special

I found the mouthfeel on Overdub to be more enjoyable that Suicide Squeeze, and thusly, better. Nostalgia is a tough thing to get over, however.

Just to list a contrary experience, I had one a can of 2014 3-way IPA that hid in the back of my fridge till a couple of months ago. A couple friends and I popped it at a bottle-share and were extremely surprised to find out how well it had held up. The hop aroma still jumped out of the can.

Haven't tried this year's 3-way yet, but even if it's not on par with 2014 I'm sure I'll still be keeping some in the fridge.

That's my feeling too. I liked Suicide Squeeze quite a bit but Overdub is probably the best session IPA I've ever had. For the exact reason you mention.

I'm drinking one now and it's definitely one of the best sub-6% IPAs I've had. Comparing it to last year's doesn't really seem fair because the name is the same, but everything else is very different. I'll gladly keep buying this as long as it's available.

That being said, last year's 3-Way was truly special and I'd love to see it brewed again.

Also, I just want to say that I don't think Georgetown gets enough credit for the quality of the hoppy beers they brew. It's easy to take them for granted because they're so ubiquitous, but they really are making great beer. It's really cool to see them included in this collaboration.

Funny, I had both this weekend while down on the Oregon Coast and feel exactly the same way.

    Ahem: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ipa-course-correction.207588/.

I was planning on passing on this year's 3-Way IPA until I read this thread. Sounds like an IPA I can enjoy. I for one was not looking for last year's redux.

I was talking about my experience buying the beer down here in Eugene (mostly at various watering hole). Even then, I remember hearing several people mention that they didn't think it was all THAT great (hence my commment that the response was "almost" universally positive). State wide, I'm sure there were a number of folks who probably didn't care for it. If everyone on the planet who tried it liked last year's 3 Way, I'm pretty certain that would be a first. :-)

I've now heard from two different people that as part of their 4th of July weekend shindig, Fort George will have all three versions of 3-Way on tap. I can't find anything online to verify this, but if true, that would be one hell of a blind tasting!

Also, I bought a 4 pack of 2015 3-Way this weekend, and I think I'm starting to come around to the fact that while this year's is very different than 2014 (obviously), it'll still be a very good summer fridge beer. We'll see how the rest of the 4 pack goes.

I think the comment that it's a great Summer fridge beer is spot on. I enjoyed a couple over the weekend.
It's more of a 'refreshing' taste without being too light.
Fruity hops rather than a bitter punch in the mouth.
I also noticed a lot less sediment than Vortex but 3way still says unfiltered.
