Hoosick St Beverage in Troy has LeBleu for 30 bucks a pipe. Is that crack pipe price or worth picking up?

$14.99/bottle at the brewery. I've seen it at $39 a bottle at a local bar. If you cannot trade for it, it's up to you to decide if it's worth $30 to experience it for yourself. Cheers!

At $14.99/bottle I'll drive to the brewery and risk getting shut out. At $30/bottle I won't drive the 15 miles it would take.

I love LeBleu, but no way would I spend $30 a bottle for it.

Ended up being $31.99 a bottle. Not for me. I haven't gotten into sours yet. I picked this up for merc7186 as I know he got turned away at Ithaca last weekend and will be in my neck of the woods this week.

It's probably not worth that price but i'm sure there are people trading atleast $20 worth of beer for it and paying shipping so I guess it isnt that crazy.

30? Hmmm, maybe not, but I will admit to spending 25 when second batch came out, and I didn't make it to Ithaca. It is very delicious.

I could self-justify spending $30 on a 750ml on a well-received wild that I've never had before. However, I've had LeBleu, and would not pay that for another bottle. Lots of people love it, though.

I'm surprised to read you found some in Troy! I may have to check it out when I'm in town next. I've justified spending that on a 750ml of sour beer that I love before. (I specify sour because . . . well, I live in CNY where they seem to be less prevalent than when I lived in the PNW. And I'm madly in love with them.) I may have to open one of my LeBleu bottles this week to see how I feel. I've spent almost $30 on Cascade sours more than once, but that was straight from the Barrel House. (Oh how I miss living within driving distance.)

I guess I'm in the minority, but I'd buy multiple bottles of LeBleu at $30 a bottle rather than spend time trying to trade for it. Unfortunately Troy is a 3 hour drive from NYC :\

It's all gone, merc7186 went and bought the 5 that Hoosick St had left and the one I picked up for him on Saturday. We cracked open a bottle of Mother Funker last night night at The Ruck to share. I have no idea how you guys drink sours but they definitely aren't for me.

Three hours isn't so bad. It's that long when I go up to The Alchemist to stock up on fresh Heady Topper. (But I also have a diesel and get 40+ MPG the whole way so I don't mind.)

Mother Funker is WAY more tart and acetic than most sours. That being said, I love the shit out of that beer

Also, a 3 hour drive both ways is a pain for me because I have to take an hour long train from Manhattan to Westchester, pick my car up, drive 3 hours there, 3 hours back, drop my car off, and then take an hour long train ride back into Manhattan.

The only experience I have with these styles of beer are Aphrodite and now Mother Funker. While I'm not saying I'll ever get into this style, I'm just not there yet.

I suppose I shouldn't whine, since I managed to snag several at the release, but I was definitely planning on a trip to Hoosick Street on Friday to see if there were any left! Better that they went to someone who missed out at the brewery. Still never been in there, so will likely wander in anyways.

    Mmmm. Sours.

See, you try to shae the love with somebody and all he does is complain about the goodies you bring him. I really like Mother Funker but maybe that wasnt the best choice for someone who is not a sour fan. Ill do better next month Fuj...I promise.

Yes, I am the asshole who bought six bottles from Hoosick St. It was uber expensive but Ive spent more on less in my life...with that being said, I politely asked the owner what the bottle limit was and he told me I could take them all. I did waste 3 hours of my life standing in line for nothing and the debacle that was the release also cost me an hour at the Erie Brew Fest too. Justified...no...but neither was it justified when some d-bags were buying a case then snagging singles too. To each their own.

Oh, there was no name calling. I got some of the last at the release and I would have been fuming had I waited in line for 3 hours for nothing. And I saw plenty of people grab a case plus extras, which ticked me off, particularly when a friend of mine said something to one of the guys working there and he just sort of rudely shrugged in a "mind your own business" sort of way.

What about the store owner you bought them from, who by all accounts got atleast 4 cases, for the sole purpose of flipping them for 100% markup?

I'm sorry, that's this guys job. Deliver you beer that you can't get otherwise and make a profit from it. If Ithaca didn't want that to happen, they shouldn't have been selling it by the case.

His job is to exploit the community? How is the guy who got a case + a few singles a 'dbag' but this store owner is just 'doing his job'? Makes total sense.
