    Am I the only one who thinks Hardywood is a bit overhyped/overrated? Likely because VA is lacking in quality breweries.

    If Hardywood was in Oregon, they'd be called Rogue.

    Whether Hardywood is overrated or not, you have to admit that's a heckuva list.

    fixed that for you. Hardywood is much better than Rogue. It is on par with Pelican - one flagship beer that they milk with variants; some other very solid beers that live in the shadows.

    I really want to try Xmas Morning, Trickery, Makers Mark RBS, Sixtel and the Brian Barrel Blends sound interesting as well. Alas, there is a very low chance i make it out to Ashburn - and an even lower chance i somehow make it back after this is all over.

    There are 4-5 beers on that list that I really want to try, but Trickery is #1, if I can get a taste of that it will be worth it.

    This was my first beer of the new year, and it was a good one. It's phenomenal, but give it a year (this Halloween) and it will ridiculous. Just needs a bit of a time for the apple brandy and stout to fully integrate.

    I'm really debating going to this, but it's an hour and a half from my house (under ideal conditions) and I have to be up for work the next day at 5 am. I'd have to be home by midnight at the latest. The logistics of it just suck.

    Gonna have to look through my Rolodex.

    That's the main reason I probably won't be going. No safe way of getting there and back. My friend is holding a party that night, so that is pulling away most of my friends (they don't really drink at all, and when they do it's not beer).

    I would urge anyone thinking of going to this to get there early. Glass Half Full, while a very nice beer bar, is tiny. I'm not sure it can even comfortably fit the 66 people who already said they were going on that FB event. I would assume you would be able to drink in the theater lobby since you can take beers into the theaters themselves but the whole place is not set up in such a way as to make getting back and forth to the bar very easy. Enjoy if you go but just be aware of the logistics.

    We're pulling all the tables out of the bar and moving them into the lobby. We're hoping this frees the bar up for people to grab beers and post up in the much larger lobby area.
