I'm hoping to get some leads on any 375ml capable/corkable Champagne type bottles like Cantillon, Drie, Boon, Lindemans, etc.? Like these: I've gotten a bout a case worth from the local good beer joint that others have drank on premises, but they hard to come by at times. My LHBS doesn't have any. Does anyone have a good lead on where to buy these at? I've got a Lambic that I am just about ready to bottle and would like something really presentable beyond the plain brown 12oz bottle. Thanks.
How about the Russian River-Lost Abbey 375s? http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/375-ml-belgian-style-beer-bottles-cork-finish.html
Thanks Mike. Though I would love to do the whole corked and caged, paying nearly $60 for the bottles, and another $16 for corks, and $14 for the cages is well beyond my price range, and this is still w/o renting a corker. The Boon/Cantillon style bottles take the 29mm caps which I actually have already. If I wanted to add a little more flare/authenticity I could use wine corks and cap over them like Cantillon, and I am in the $20 range plus rental on that option. Also, with those bottles I could cap most of them and get a small amount of corks and cages, and maybe do a case or so that way for presentation.
how about here? http://www.crownpolycon.com/html/craft_brewery.html (found this here.... http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/green-375-ml-champagne-bottles-275623/) Eugene seems like a hip kinda town, maybe try some weekend brunch hot spots. i have seen some places use splits of preseco or cava to make mimosas, and on a busy Saturday that could add up to a case or two real quick. good luck
You can get the 375ml as Oldsock recommended in a cappable format too. Still kind of expensive, but saves on the cork, cages and corker... http://morebeer.com/view_product/20865//Belgian_Style_Beer_Bottles_-_Cappable_375mL_12_Per_Case_
http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/375-ml-belgian-style-beer-bottles-crown-finish.html Similar yet crown finish. I have a few cases, very nice bottles.
Well look at that, they even have the 750s for capping. I never noticed that before. I they fairly new? Hope you aren't going to need 600, like Pangea here. I kid.
