I wish for a meeting of the minds (and cellars) of my White Whale homies. Does anyone still have this beer and what does someone want for one?

A buddy and I did a pretty epic WW tasting last December that involved most of the WW's that I've always wanted to try but not all of them...this being one.

We plan to do another tasting eventually and need this bottle. We have a 99' and a MG and want to do the epic 3 year semi vertical. We need one, what will it take?

    Thanks everyone,
    Ryan

    A bunch of cash, IMO.

Edit...I think I saw one bandied about in the iso ft awhile back but pretty sure they were looking to trade up for dq et al. Hell of a hard bottle to find but they are definitely out there. That vertical is worth doing too

Three of us did the 50th, 99, Millenium tasting a little while back. I'm pretty sure we traded two 99s and a Brouwsel to get the 50th. Totally worth it for the experience.

I should've bought two bottles of the 99' 3F OG when they were on the shelf at BW for $76. I did get one though

Wow, that's really reasonable. I would buy every bottle that they would let me walk away with for that price. Two of us at that tasting liked the 99 the best followed by 50th and Millenium. The third guy put 50th ahead of 99 followed by Millenium. All three were great and still holding up really well.

I just had a discussion on this, and it really depends on which version of 98 you want.. (there's the hand labeled euro version and the US version). having said that, and with that being said, and however subtle the differences, they are both difficult to attain. though the hand labeled ones never left Belgium (well, hardly ever).

What was it written with? The varied stroke width and bleeding looks like a Pentel.

I just did a trade very similar to this get a 50th. The guts of the trade were two bottles of 99 And an overly generous trader that was willing to "trade down" to help me out.

That's pretty good value. Some guy tried selling me the brouwsel for $850 which I thought was crazy? Is it worth that?

Is anything worth that? All in the eye of the beholder, right?

Brouwsel was actually better than I thought it'd be but it's definitely not worth $850...maybe $85.

The 50th didn't blow me away at all.. there are (far) better years of non-vintage 3F OG.. '99 on the other hand is amazing..

2002 3F OG? Mmmmmmm...might be the best ever.

PS, anyone know why is 2001 so rare? Can't find that anywhere.
