Seen at Woodman's Kenosha this morning: 3F Alpha King 12oz limit one $3.99 a bottle.

    Really??

At the brewpub $10 per 6-pack or $35 per case.

I know. I was standing in line with my wife waiting to check out and was just completely dumbfounded by the sign, and confirmed with her AK was one of their regular 6-packs. Thought maybe it's bombers until I saw the bottles behind the register.

Wow. Woodman's would be the last place I would expect price gouging. Looks like even they can't pass up capitalizing on the FFF hype. Capitalism at its finest.

I thought Woodman's was better than that! It would suck if they go down that road more often.

You are in Wisconsin, so thank god you can get Moon Man which is so much better it is almost funny.... Three Floyds used to be around La Crosse WI all over the place.... Alpha King, Gumballhead, Pride and Joy and Robert the Bruce in 6ers.... Dreadnaught in bombers, tried um all.... I guess some people just think the hype makes them worth it, I am not one of those people, I have found at least 5 better examples at my grocery store with dates on the bottle then three floyds.... I do not hate the brewery, just can not stand the "god" like status that is given to some brewers and brewerys for no real reason.

I will add, Woodmans stores seem to vary from store to store grately... My stores manager never has bottle limits like I see at others, and when there are special releases she always saves some for the return customers (very cool for a giant grocery store if you ask me)!

For me, it was less about 3F and more about pricing.

Ya I hate mark ups because of hype as much as the next guy... Just seems this kind of thing always happens with FFF because of the way they market themselves.

All kinds of hyperbole going on here. Alpha King is the shit. That said, $3.99 a bottle is a joke.

Talking to the manager that was the first case of Alpha King they have got in over 6 month and they want to split it up so everybody could get some, not sure about the $3.99 part though.

You must live near Woodman's Onalaska. Compared to the other locations, that place blows my mind every time I enter the store.

That makes some sense. $3.99 does seem steep though!

FFF is getting harder to get in WI now, we get shipments of 8 cases tops every few months. Somehow Wholefoods gets a really good allotment though, probably one of the biggest amounts in SE WI.

when you are the best brewery in the country and average breweries all over the place Jack up their own prices for BS limited releases, etc. You can price FFF high and still sell. It's becoming a joke.

I'm more or less done with going to woodman's - at least the Menominee Falls location. Last year's KBS release - they were selling it $15 a bottle! This year's hopslam was going for $20 a sixer - not as horrible but still $16 everywhere else.

Really?!? The Oak Creek store hasn't been bad. I got BA Bigfoot for $16 this year... fair, in my opinion. I am curious how places handle KBS this year. Considering the myriad of phone calls they have probably already received on it they are aware of the demand and will probably, but hopefully not, raise the price.
