i'm not looking to get into an argument over the subject. keep reading what i wrote, eventually you will figure it out.

Not being a dick. I shared the cost I found them at which was a part of the post. I originally bought one for $26.99. Later I found them for less. Were they mispriced? I don't know. But I can tell you they are gone. I think I bought 6 total at that price. Hoarder? Yup, I'm in that (Bruery). Do I point people in the right direction on good beer? Yes. In this case though I would be reducing my chances of finding the next beer I've been tracking down. For what? I would lose something and gain nothing. That's how I see it.

Must have raised the price. I think I bought most of mine off BiaB and it came to around $15 per bottle.

I dunno, I'm in the mentality that if I see a good price, I should let BA know. When I saw 750ml bottles of Piraat and Gulden Draak go on crazy mark down at $5.99, I made a thread in the regional forums. They cleared out that very night. Do I regret it? Nah, I already bought mine, thats how I knew about it. We are afterall part of a beer community, and part of that is helping out fellow members, not competing with them.

On that note, I don't see the point of clotheslining all the beers either. I barely have time in the day to drink all the beers I have now, buying them up individually at most times, let alone sitting on stockpiles of the same beer. Yes I understand we are not at all obligated to leave any for other people, but having 5+ of the same beer? Whats the point. Even if its god's gift to man, another [better?] beer will come out soon.

My local shop has about 15 bottles of this stuff. But at 31.99 it's seems like the highest price mentioned in this thread. No wonder they have so many.

Maybe I'll wait a few weeks and if they haven't sold any give them an offer of 27.00.

I've already been tempted at 31.00 but haven't gone for it.

Edit: Side note, I don't know how long it took me to realize that "3F" is a reference to Drie Fonteinen and not Three Floyds. I was getting that wrong forever.

Unless Armand makes it part of his normal line-up and it's permashelf at $25 per 375 bottle.

Golden Blend was awesome but it wasn't twenty-six-dollars-awesome. I paid around the same via online.

Anyone know how it ages? I have a couple of the '11 bottles and am thinking about cracking one now and letting the other sit for a while.

2011 was the only release. Probably ages as well as any other high quality gueuze.

I envy all of you who have the opportunity to buy badass quality gueze without having to order online or settle for Cuvee Rene! I promise that I'd pick several of those up at 25-30 bucks a bottle. Not all at once, but this thread has popped up a few times in the last couple months, which makes me believe that it's just sitting on shelves waiting for someone deprived (like myself) to come along and capitolize.

    Just a note:

In addition to all the fantastic beer that they sell at Hill Farmstead, I was there yesterday and noticed they also have bottles of Golden Blend for $20.00, which appears to be significantly cheaper than every other price mentioned in this thread.

Unbelievable! The four people that actually live in the Northeast Kingdom have it pretty good for beer these days. Just sayin' is all.

78 euros*. Translates usually to around $105 according to Paypal's weird conversion rate that I've found never coincides with the market price.

There's a reason this stuff is collecting dust everywhere... not worth the ludicrously high price.

Yeah, as I understand it, Shaun imported that himself through Grassroots, dodging the Shelton Bros. tax. I plan to pick up more of that when I'm at HF next...

Quite the opposite. Shelton Brothers are the exclusive importer for Drie Fonteinen in the US. Grassroots Distribution distributes the beers of Shelton in the state of VT. Our margins are low. There is no "Shelton Tax" - have you noticed that they are an importer? Ie - they have to transport the beer from Belgium to the United States, pay the customs tax, store the beer in a warehouse, and keep their lights on?

The "Shelton Tax" I see around here a lot of the time is constantly keeping Beer of the Gods on tap and in my opinion that's too high of a price to pay!

Thats the price I paid for it. Its an excellent beer, that I am glad I tried once. But at that price I wouldnt purchase it again. Is ANY 375mL beer really worth $27, probably not, but you only live once!

Thanks for the clarification, Shaun. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers there... I had bad information, clearly!
