    No worries!
I dislike the "shelton tax" sentiment. Folks here don't seem to understand that it's the distributors, not Shelton that are marking up these beers to such extraordinary heights. How come nobody complains about the B.United tax?

Probably, fairly or unfairly, because people drink a lot more Shelton-imported stuff than others? or, I guess that's really not true - people DESIRE more Shelton-imported stuff (3F, Cantillon, etc.) than B United? but yeah, I'm one who's complained about it in the past, but I'll also readily admit I know nothing about the importing/distribution business. I think mostly it annoys me/I find it odd that it can be cheaper for me to order it from overseas AND have it shipped than buy it off the shelf.

I just bought one of the small bottles for $10.99 yesterday. I haven't tried it yet but this is one gueuze I've been wanting to try.

Found a bottle of 3F Oude Kriek at TW the other day. Asking price was 39.95. I passed.

If by ``small bottle'' you mean 12.7oz, then you got a pretty good bargain at $10.99. Here the 12.7oz bottles cost $22. Nice work!

Are people really complaining about spending $25-30 on a beer that took FOUR YEARS to make???? Honestly??? I don't think the 'beer world' understands how much goes into making some of these beers.. blows me away.

Why does the price drop on the beers when shellton is no longer the distributor?

Their normal beer takes 3 years to make and costs about 10 bucks a bottle, if even that much. So thus why there's some "wow expensive" factor

I doubt that's the golden blend as that's the price for their normal gueze.

Is there even a large bottle for the golden blend?

Definitely understand that maybe its a shock at first.. but for people to call it ludicrous? The amount of beer they actually have left over from that 4th year? There is barely any, we should be thrilled to even HAVE a beer like this out there.

I know liquor has a huge loss with aging. How much is their with beer?

We are all well aware of how long it takes to make some of the lambics that get blended into a good gueuze. I think the reason we're put off by the price is simply because the regular 3F gueuze is already world-class and costs about a third what the Golden Blend costs. I can't speak for everyone, but that's why I have never pulled the trigger on it.

Don't have any specifics as to the percentage that is lost.. but the angel's share is still a good percentage. And if the price is an issue, don't buy it  leaves more for the rest of us!
