Got a 750ml bottle of this from a friend, but I'm not really into sours. Does it have any trade value?

    It has trade value.

I've traded for Dark Lord before.

    Yes and no.

A lot of people have it on their local shelves. I can drive 15 minutes and buy a bottle for $15 (and do, often)

Some other people do not have that kind if distro, and would love to trade for it. It's not going to net you anything rare, but you can get some GOOD locals for it.

I love 3F OG but I can never find it anywhere in the Madison area. If I get the itch later on, I'd trade $4$ locals for it. Like NG fruit 750's.

in some (really, most) places it's a shelf beer. it's an incredibly delicious shelf beer that i will take any day over the much-more-hyped cantillon, but a shelf beer nonetheless.

edit: it will get you quality locals from people outside shelton's distro zone.

We see the 750's for $15-18 generally. When HFS had them on the shelf they were $15 and I bought a ton, a couple other shops also had them at that price point.

Sometimes Whole Foods has this on the shelf, or used too.

Seekabrew shows Shelton's distro zone as pretty much the entire country, minus a handful of states.

I'm in Louisiana and it went very quickly when we got it a month or so ago. That was the first time I had seen it in a while.

    Is it vintage?

If so, disregard everything that people have told you to do in this thread and send me a beermail.

How about 2010 vintage, any trade value there? I still have a couple 375's held over from way back.

    probably the same.

i don't think the trade value of it really starts going up until you start getting to bottle dates going back to 2008 or older. 1999 is a bona-fide whale.

It has to say"vintage" on the label to be considered vintage.

not strictly. we're not talking about bottles specifically labeled "oude gueuze vintage", just bottles labeled "oude gueuze" from a particular year. the '1999' i'm referring to is regular ass oude gueuze that was bottled in 1999.

all bottles of "oude gueuze vintage" have trade value. '02 in particular seems to be extremely desired and trades at the whale level. however, from what i understand, these are only sold at the brewery (or by some gray market retailers) and never make it to the US through official channels.

edit: the last thread i posted asking about what i would have to give up for an OGV of any year, the answer hovered somewhere around fou foune level for an '07 or '08.
