    Hey folks

I have to hit Toledo tomorrow and wondered if 3Floyds made it into Ohio. I sent an email to the Beer and Wine Cave in Toledo but I dont know when they will get back with me. So anyone know?

    Thanks

Yea, a while back in Fall 2011. Still only bomber releases to my knowledge. I just picked up Brian Boru when I was at my parents house for Easter(Canton).

I usually see FFF bombers at Portage Lakes bottle shop/drive thru, but they were totally sold out last time. They did still have Alesmith My Bloody Valentine.

Not to help, but I only saw FFF Alpha King in Columbus, but its always on at Bodega. Im assuming Bob's had one as well, but I didnt go.

But if you send me a message, I have connections with a guy in NW OH.

I'm heading up to Michigan in June and drive through Columbus. I would love to pick some FFF on the way back. Thanks for the heads up!

Hmmm I don't know about Toledo, but the areas around Cleveland (Strongsville, Lakewood, Brunswick, etc.) got some Zombie Dust, Brian Boru and Jinx Proof.

I have only seen bombers in Toledo. Some places will have kegs of Three Floyds on tap, but that is pretty much the extent of it.

There are two locations of The Andersons in the Toledo area. I've been to the one in Sylvania, and they have an extensive selection. I've seen posts in these forums that the one in Maumee is also a good store. My guess is that if there is any FFF in Toledo then it will be at one of these stores. Call them to see if that can answer your needs.

Joe's Beverage Center in Toledo! I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet. They had some FFF beer and glassware recently.

Here in the Cleveland area we'll get a lot 3 Floyds' releases on a fairly regular basis now, but only in pretty limited quantities. Only a few places, places that have very fine beer selections to begin with, carry their stuff, and when they do get it is its like a case (or 2 at most if a store is really lucky!) per store and that's it. You have to jump on a beer of theirs real quick when someplace has it before it sells out, and you kind of have to be in the know to to where to find it and when shipments are coming in, etc. Its certainly better than it was when we first started getting their stuff distributed here about a year ago or so, but its still pretty small quantities. Bars that have excellent beer selections have also been getting a few kegs here and there of 3 Floyds' stuff in recent months too. Just recently we've started to get 12 oz bottles of their stuff too. Just a few days ago I got a 12 oz bottle of their Jinx Proof, speaking of which I think I am going to go crack it open now. Sorry I can't be of any help to you as to where to find it in Toldeo, but I guess my advice is do some research of any stores there you might be stopping by at to look for it to see if they have it, if you go on a wild goose chase to try and find it you might end up being very disappointed.

If you buy ANYTHING, buty as much Great Lakes as you can. Seriously the best beer you can buy for a buck and a quarter per.

There's no guarantees with FFF beers on shelves in Toledo. It usually flies off shelves and most stores only get a shipment a month of their special release bombers. I'd recommend calling a few stores in the area tomorrow before bothering to stop.

There's also one at Talmadge and Monroe, and the selection is similarly large.

Currently, as an employeee of the Sylvania location, the only FFF I'm aware of being in Toledo right now is Jinx Proof. You might find some dusty stuff at Joseph's or Marino's, though.

Joe's sells out of FFF instantly. I've only been to the Anderson's in Toledo (Talmadge), but their store looks like it's organized by a 2 year old. It used to be my favorite store about 5 years ago, but Joe's has surpassed it in every way. Also, I got tired of the snobby old farts working there. There are much better family operated grocery stores like Buehler's, Fishers, and Acme in Ohio. I'm only speaking from my experiences with the Anderson's on Talmadge. It sounds like the other stores may be better!

I don't know Buehler's Fishers or Acme at all. I'm not sure about the issues with the Talmadge Andersons. I've had absolutely no problems with their organization or the staff. I'd have to check out the other places you mentioned. I don't really see much reason to go to Joseph's anymore, but it's a fine store.

If Three Floyds wasn't so damn good, I wouldn't even care. We are much better off in OH than we were before, but the allocation is still very sparse. I'm lucky to have enjoyed more than a few (although Zombie Dust eludes me). I visited a few shops in Evansville, IN a while ago, and it was weird seeing so much FFF on the shelves & coolers!

I would suggest stopping in either Covington or Fort Thomas Kentucky to get your Three Floyd's fix if you are driving from N.C. I stopped in a little place called Dep's http://depsfinewine.com/ in Ft. Thomas while at a soccer tourney and found Jinx Proof, Brian Boru, Bohemeth, Gorch Fock, and Arctic Panzer Wolf....on two separate weekends in March. I have yet to catch a FFF in Columbus and go to several stores several times a week. Just my two cents.

Thanks for that information. At first I thought it might be way out of the way, but it's not. I'll give them a call when I head up there.
