3L Bottles available in Denver/Boulder/Ft. Collins

    Hi folks,

    I posted a thread in the beer trading help section asking for advice about a good, relatively available large format bottle to take as a gift to a friend's wedding. Forgetfu suggested I check out the mountain forum to see what's around. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me about what you've seen around town. I've only seen a 6L Val-Dieu bottle and maybe a 3L St. Feuillien (sp?) tripel. I hear there have been some large format St. Bernardus and others floating around and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or could point me towards anything else interesting. Always happy for an in person trade as well, but I don't think I want to do any shipping for one of these. Cheers!

    Typically most drop around Christmas.

    I think year-round you might find Arrogant Bastard (or Double?) & Duvel. Although, come to think of it those might be 1.5L... I almost always see large-format at Mile High W&S and some at Joy if they are still around.

    We have 1.5L of St. Bernardus Abt. 12 at the store I work at in Denver. Only 3L I see is Arrogant but most larger stores can tell you what 3L's are available year around and can special order for you.

    I have seen larger format Vertical Epic 12.12.12, as well.

    Someone mentioned Mile High, I'd check there and Applejack as well.

    My first recommendation was going to be asking Forgetfu, but I see that you started there :-)
