Hi All, My partner and I started what we hope to be a tradition on our 1st anniversary: we had a 2nd anniversary beer as a good omen for the upcoming year. That beer was Enegren's 2nd Anniversary Doppelsticke Altbier. So, I am looking for a list of breweries that I could consume their 3rd anniversary beer on May 1st, 2015. If it's something cellar-able, I could procure it anytime between now and then. If it's more meant to be consumed fresh, it would need to release closer to May 1st. Can you all help me make a list of breweries that fit that age range and make an anniversary beer to look out for this year (and every year, considering it would be the same slate of breweries each year). I figured that would be a bit easier than trying to figure out the founding date of every brewery by myself, especially considering these would be relatively young breweries. Thanks in advance for any help!
Oh, also - we moved to Kentucky recently but with enough lead time could get ahold of just about anything, I'd imagine.
Welcome to the South! Off the top of my head, I believe Westbrook celebrated their 3rd anniversary this year. For the first two anniversaries they released an "anniversary ale" so I'd imagine they did for the 3rd (possibly a variant of MC?). Whatever that beer is, it's already come and gone, but you could probably track it down. Jester King also recently celebrated their 3rd anniversary, didn't they? I'm not sure if they released anything specific for it, though. If I think of anything else, I will certainly let you know.
I lived in Austin for a few years and Jester King is one of my favorites. I don't think they really release an anniversary beer, but I'll double check. Westbrook's site is actually pretty helpful. Looks like their 4th anniversary beer might come out in January or so? But maybe I can still track down the 3rd. Thanks for the great help!
Was doing a search about something else when I came on this thread: Westbrook's 3rd Anniversary beer was Orange Bliss Stout. Not sure that was clear in the posts above. Not sure you can still find it, @velcrowe. But you never know--just wanted to make sure you knew what to look for.
