After consent from last years host I am taking this over this year.

As DLD approaches and now that ticket sales are over I'd like to announce that I will be running another round of the Single Bottle BIF at Dark Lord Day!

    The rules:
You must let me know what you are bringing (or a list of possible things)
You must bring a LARGE FORMAT (with very few exceptions) bottle of beer that is good and generally sought after. A good rule of thumb is that it should be rarer/more sought after than Dark Lord itself.
You conceal your bottle in a paper bag or something similar.
You find me at DLD and hand me your bottle, I then hand you the bottle of the person who found me before you did!

Pretty straight forward, LOTS of fun!

    Some examples of acceptable bottles:
    older vintages of Dark Lord
    Darkness
    Hunapus
    BCBS variants
    Etc

some things that are not acceptable:
BB Plead the 5th (too small)
    Abyss (too widely available)
    Homebrew (come on)

If you want in send me a message with the beer list off beers you plan to bring. If I can decide if the bottle is good enough ill let the masses decide. Ill post a day or two before what I plan to wear, I might give out my number but I am not sure on this yet because I dont want to be on the phone helping you guys find me all day and not enjoying the fest plus who knows how long my phone will last. I might post my location through out the day of where I am posted up at to help out. Ill be easy to spot most likely wear a yellow shirt, Patriots hat, or unique hoodie if it is cold.

The rules are pretty much copy and paste from last year and it worked fine.

Beers Ill kick it off with might include

    CW 16
    Cantillon Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio
    BA Sexual Chocolate '12
    Baller Stout
    JK Worlds Worst Twin
    MOAS '11

I won't be there so this is truly a peanut gallery comment, but Baller Stout is a hell of an awesome bottle, I'd say no to Bo & Luke as it strikes me as more common than those others (variants ok), I agree no on SitR, though Kumquat or Peach would be fine, and I'd say no to Stickee Monkee for the same reason, but older vintage Sucaba or Parabola would be good.

Feel free to completely disregard my comments if you're only looking for feedback from potential participants, and have fun!

I appreciate the feedback. I agree with everything you said but wanted some other takes. Even though I am running it this year I want it to be a BIF of the people/BA Community at the same time. I dont know everything about beer and some might say I know nothing but opinions are always....most of the time helpful

OP - logistics question that would help from the start: do you intend to park and set up on the north side or south side of the grounds? Will swaps take place at your vehicle or inside the grounds?

I plan to park where I can find a spot. Trades will take place where ever I am at. As it was last year its semi where's waldo type where you find me, Ill most likely PM my number or post on here where I am at and for how long ill be there. Most likely will get my beer run it to the car and post up by the beer garden/guest drafts or something.

Agreed and noted. People should be looking here to see how the masses feel. I dont want someone bringing something good and walking away disappointed.

    Also

    Huna
    Forgotten Island
    Moscatal BA DL
    Backyard
    Baller Stout
    Juliet 12
    Madame Rose 12
    Lolita 11

Have been added to the list of possibles.

Continue to leave feedback and ill post a final list of ok'd beers a week or so out.

HAve been added to the list

I'm fine with most of these. On the fence with the last 3 GI beers. Are these generally sought after? I've never had them but doing a quick search in the FT/ISO forum (through January) I find many FT and no one ISO these.

Any dice on these? Is the point to get good beers, or is the point to get highly rated, big name beers?

The vertical epic 6-6-6 is my contender. Acknowledge the general concern. So I can keep this one at home. But FWIW, mine have been properly cellared. I had a partial Vertical Epic flight at my Xmas party last year - 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2012. The 2006 and the 2007 tasting exceptional. No oxidixation.

Thanks for the correction. I thought it was further along than that but I could only find the 3rd Annual posting. If you want to run it again it is all yours. I contacted the host from the 3rd annual and he gave me the ok but since you ran the 4th its yours if you want.
