Well it's odd because in the last couple months they've had some pretty solid pre-releases of beers like Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA, Oskar's Deviant Dales, and lately Del Norte's El Guapo.... which is why I'm baffled they're doing this unless it was backed/sponsored by AB. Widmer & Kona are both part of the Craft Brewers Alliance which is majority owned by AB Inbev: Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owns 32% of Craft Brewers Alliance, and is the sole distributor for all its brands. $35 is still pretty steep for these beers, that's like what $19 meal and $4/pint for 4 beers?
$35!??? I just about jumped out the window to end this madness and welcome sweet oblivion. It seems AB is preying (or praying) on the fad aspect of the craft movement. Like, "hey, it's cool to drink craft beer. Here's some and it's paired with food. That's how cool it is. Be cool with us, and give us money".
if the beer is of the same caliber as the beer it's going to be high end schwan's microwaveable dinners.
I'll do it, but I insist on giving you 6 Beatification. I mean, the Raspberry Shock Top is going to be there. That's damn near a whale.
I remember back when that same Old Chicago would do pitchers of Oak Aged Yeti for $12. Before all of the the craft-centric restaurants started showing up downtown it was a pretty decent beer bar. Times have definitely changed!
