I have a work conference from April 27th to May 1st at The Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, TX (grapevine seems to be the actual town.) Just looking for some good local recommendations for beerchoices and craft beer bars/restaurants to check out. What Texas breweries are a must try? All i really know about are Jester King and Live Oak Thank you in advance!
For Bottle Shops, the best one in the area (IMHO) is not too far, Lonestar Beverages. I am a Dallas proper dweller so the bars in the area I cannot suggest. If you want to come down to Dallas, I highly suggest LUCK. It has 35-40 taps that are all from 75 miles or less away. If you can find anything from Peticolas (especially Velvet Hammer) or Lakewood (The Temptress is my favorite) be sure to grab them up. Other suggested local brews would be Revolver Blood and Honey, Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde, Community Mosaic, etc... Jester King and Live Oak are both Austin breweries
I was there for a conference a couple years ago. Mellow Mushroom and The Gingerman are pretty close by. Both are in Southlake.
Bottle Shops: Hall's is very close and is one of the best spots in the entire metroplex. Grapevine Beer and Wine - hidden gem of place. Usually have bottles that have already left the shelves of more popular shops. Central Market Southlake - Ask for Matt in the beer department for special releases. Las Colinas Beverage - Solid bottle shop with a great selection. Bars/Restaurants: Mellow Mushroom - best tap selection in the area. Ask Zach for rare bottles in the back. Tolbert's - 40 taps filled with tons of Texas drafts and other solid national stuff (FW, Ballast Point, Founders) They had BCBS on tap for almost two weeks. Gingerman Southlake/Londoner Colleyville - Lots of taps, but mostly filled with English Pub beers. Few locals and very little special releases. FM Smokehouse Irving - 40 taps similar to Tolberts. Great local stuff and a few national craft All of these places are within 20 minutes of the Gaylord so if you looking for close these are your best options. If you are looking to go further, Common Table, Meddlesome Moth, Goodfriend, Bottle Shop, Luck, Strangeways, Blind Butcher, Dallas Beer Kitchen are all worthy spots in Dallas.
Peace Burger Dive Bar on William D Tate in Grapevine for Ok selection of taps and cheap tasty grub. $6 burgers. Tacos, wings, and other bar good. Good margaritas too. Specials everyday.
Tolberts had BCBS on draft when it was released, and according to untappd they still had it up until last week ...
Good to know, used to go there a lot when I lived in Grapevine. Not so much since moving to Flower Mound.
Wound up going to Mellow Mushroom and Zach hooked it up with some delicious St Arnolds specialties! THanks for the great rec!!
I missed it by about 2 days. They have done a great job at getting craft in the doors compared to 5 years ago.
