id also like to say the nice ladies serving the food samples did a fine job. its a wonder none were injured as the masses swarmed them each time they came out with a tray of delicious food.

 

It was like throwing bread in a pond of ducks lol. Poor girls were surrounded within seconds!

 

Yeah that's kind of embarrasing to watch. Fucking savages.

 

The girl that had the deep fried testicles made a few passes with the same tray. They were tasty. As was the alligator foot.

 

Per their facebook they did intend on it being 2-4 packs but according to them they accidentally typed 1 instead of 2 on their website.

 

Best thing I had was the alpaca in plum sauce.

 

I just called the store (11:45) and was told that no bottled leftovers have been brought into the store, and that I can call back later today to check again.

 

So, uh.... Anybody else try that whale penis croissant?

 

They told me at 11 when I called and asked the general store will you be selling any bbpt5 she said no we will not be. Interested to know if this is true or she's out if the loop

 

Maybe its a typo and they havent caught it yet??

 

Yea I tried to call today, got the same reply. yesterday they said they had some left, but had to figure out when they would sell it and to call back today

 

I think they're annoyed everyone wants to buy their beer.

 

I get the same feeling which I find a bit disturbing.

 

Let's not judge them. I'd hate to be answering the phone all day when trying to help out customers that are in the store.

 

My first 4 elf, and I was majorly disappointed....in myself. So I learned for next time. My point of view comes from someone who would like to get the cool rare bottles, but wasn't the end of the world for me. I won't lie, I would have been pissed to end up with nothing, but thanks to DH for upping volume of BBPT5 this year. I had a strong feeling it would be near impossible to miss out on at least those 2 cases. So I awoke early and arrived a few minutes before 4am (ended up #582). I was near the front part of the more civilized warehouse group. Did some bottle sharing with the first group in that part of the line, too much as it would turn out. Its deceiving when you get next to no sleep, it kind of seems like the previous day, but its not, its really the next day.....so you should EAT something first. I didn't, and drank who knows how much on empty. Paid for it later in the morning, and had ZERO stomach left to enjoy a single beer on tap. So I didn't even get to try the bourbrum variety. Oh well, I got my 2 cases later in the evening and went home. My wallet is thankful too. I must have been too drunk to not notice full allotment of everything was $465, and I filled it out!

Oh, and I called the warehouse more civilized because when security scrunched up the line and I saw exactly what the outside line looked like, it was like a war zone with all of the trash and empties. Apparently nobody felt like cleaning up after themselves. Thanks to DH for putting up with that BS.

Next year, assuming BBPT5 volumes are up, I'll leave the rare grabs to all of you crazies, get my normal sleep, and show up mid-day to enjoy a few nice taps at the party while still getting my allotment of plead.

 

Any chance they scrapped the idea of selling the remaining 2014 and are saving it so they can sell it as 'vintage' next year?

 

I was one of those guys that cut you, I ended up #81. I got there a little after 8pm and found my friends. I was immediately accosted by 2 guys in black jackets telling me where the end of the line was. I did appreciate the assistance but it was unnecessary. Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers so me and my buddy went to the end of the line, set up our chairs and then walked up to party with the rest of our group. Guys in the black coats didn't seem to notice or care, especially with all the epic bottles that were being shared with them, even though they were some unpleasant individuals.

This party is just that, a party. Relax about the bottles, you were 80ish in line, you'll be fine. I had a great time, opened ridiculous beers, shared them with people who I didn't know who seemed genuinely awesome and surprised that I was handing them CBS or BA Abraxas or whatever else. That's what its all about for me.

And to anyone who showed up before 8:30pm and didn't get the bottles they wanted, PM me and I'll send them to you. Oh wait, everyone did.

not true at all. anyone who arrived after around 7:30 missed out on DB Plead. i arrived at about 8 or 8:10 and got order number 249 which was right around 20 orders after DB Plead ran out. if im understanding your post you are admitting cutting in front of almost 200 people.

 

I love it when people try to rationalize cutting in line. Apparently, the assistance WAS necessary, considering you clearly don't know how lines work. And somehow THEY were the "unpleasant" individuals?
