Yes as of noon today there was 20 cases or so in the store.

 

Nice, really hope they keep the numbers and quality where it was at this year, next year.

That was me in the Scion. Gave me a funny story to come home with!

 

Just to make sure I'm not losing my mind, but anyone else that got the 2013 BBPt5 at 4 Elf, do the bottles indicate anywhere that it is barrel aged? The wax was a give away but it came in a regular Plead the 5th box and didn't have the sticker saying it was barrel aged. It looks identical to a 4 pack of Plead the 5th but with wax on the top.

 

Pretty sure the label on the bottle says BA....just had one last night. And the 4-pack carton too.

 

Do you mean the 2014 since that is the current topic, or did you intend to say 2013?

Edit: Ah, never mind, I just recalled that some 2013 was sold that day too.

 

I think I packed mine away in my cellar but I have a bottle in the fridge that I'll have to take a pic of when I get home. There were no indications on the bottle or 4 pack carton I have. It's weird. I'm cracking one tomorrow so I guess I'll find out.

 

Could it be that the 2013 sold was Brass mug or another variant that was pulled last year?

 

That is exactly what it is..The bottles match identically to those...The others have a star on it with the years...The brass mug / tippins did not

 

yea i was thinking it was the Brass mug's, I remember they were sopposed to get around 55 more cases, but then there was an issue, never got the rest.

 

It definitely tastes like the Brass Mug version as well, which, while initially very hot, is drinking great right now.

 

Can you or someone elaborate on what is different about the brass mug?

 

Brass Mug was a version aged in a blend of 2 Elijah Craig and 1 Eagle Rare barrel (people can correct me if I am wrong). These barrels were sent to Dark Horse by Brass Mug (a liquor store in Michigan). Then, the beer was sold at Brass Mug. There are two others as well: Oppermanns and Tippins. Similar concept, not 100% certain on the barrels used.

 

From what I understand, Tippins, Oppermans and Brass Mug each provided their own barrels, the beer was aged, all of it was blended together and then bottled. So Tippins == Oppermans == Brass Mug

 

This is exactly what happened....With that said, its still a really good beer..It just used different barrels as Dark Horse uses Heaven Hills barrels

 

Anyone know if they still have it?
