Is there a place to set up a small tent or anything like that?

Yup. The whole back area of their beer garden. Lots of people put up tents or some form of shelter.

The whole pack up and move drill was a clusterfuck. Simple solution is to walk the order forms out along the line but that makes too much sense.

Last year was my first experience at 4 Elf. I got there at about 1030pm the night before. If you want to experience an all-night bottleshare and have access to all of their bottled stuff, get there the night before. I had 33 ticks on Untappd the next morning, with a majority of the samples I tried being commonly sought after brews that I have never had access to. Be mindful though if you're going to bring a tent and a any amount of shit to camp out...the pick up and move deal when the line opens in the morning is pain in the ass.

Damn, how do you keep track of who was there first if the line doesn't open til 5am? Makeshift line that you guys police yourselves?

Yeah, almost everyone was good about knowing where they were in line. You're with the same crowd all night. As always, some PoS wants to find the easy way to get in front of everybody else. Line jumpers were one problem, while there were others who set up camp with their buds, took off and went to the hotel to get some sleep, and came back at 5:00 during the cluster.

After you hand in your order form and pay for your entrance bracelet, can you leave and come back at 11 and walk right in, or will you have to get back in a massive line just to get into the party?

Yeah people did little tents at their spot in line but DH has very recently done quite a bit of landscaping to extend their beer garden all the way to the back (anyone have a picture of this?) which may or may not impact the line situation. It'll be interesting.

Once the line moves and you turn in your form, you come and go as you please. Although I don't even remember them being open so you may have to leave. There weren't any lines after the morning line. It was a packed house though.

They had security guards, who were helpful pointing you to the end of the line as you arrived. I'm not sure how well they did at keeping people in line. Everyone was spread out pretty single file....until 5:30/6am or so. At that point they told everyone who had tents, heaters, coolers, etc to take them back to their car. The flustercuck came when hundreds of hammered people returned, looking for their original spot in line. The line jumpers took advantage. The single file turned into about 4 wide as they collapsed the length of the line. Moste of my wait was inside of the back storage barn. The last hour was outside. Line started moving at 7am I think. I was near the back anyway (4am arrival) so I figure any of the jumpers were just mixing their spots in front of me anyway. I wasn't expecting anything other than BBPT5.

maybe wait on a official release of bottle sales information before dusting off your tent. Who knows they may change how they do the sales this year.

How far away from the actual party did they announce the info last year?

Love - line waiting, bottle shares, great people, and the brews available on the day of 4Elf.

Hate - the fact that if you don't drink your allocation of BBPt5 within three months, it starts going south rapidly.

I think there's something going on with last year's batch of ba plead. I dumped the last two I drank. I don't wanna to say the "I" word, but it could be...
