It is for sure odd, and I agree. I also agree that they should. My comment was just that I (think) they probably recognize that no one cares. It's hard to put in the effort if you feel like it isn't worth it.

If anyone happens to see this by tomorrow, would love to here how silver Nuggets is. I have never tried any of their taproom only IPAs that they can, but I know they are “better.” Hoping to pick up a 4 pack - drink 1 or 2 and send the other 2 or 3 out to a couple friends. The timing is nice, because I was already going to be sending packages out to them on Monday.

Stopped by 450N today en route to Bloomington, IN for work. Was able to try slushies on draft (no cans). They were good. Not quite as good as Joose, but I understand the appeal. What I do not understand is the hype. You can get Joose no problem. No camping out needed. These seem to trade higher. Not sure I understand that. Maybe just because they are new?

Either way, it’s cool. Do wish they were closer to home for me. I would certainly enjoy having “easy” access to these. Alas, they are not.

Curious how your experience went. Did you leave at 2am as you stated in another post? What was it like? Do people show up before 7:30am to get their wristband and then leave and come back when the cans start selling at 11?

Friends from Columbus are considering going this Friday so they can have cans for Labor Day and asked my advice, but I am so far removed idk how it works.

    Anyone can chime in!

All of these beers just taste like fruit puree. You can go and buy the fruit at the store, make a smoothie, drop a shot of vodka in it, and boom you have the slushie series. I really don't get the hype.

Eh not really. I agree they are overhyped but the few slushies i've tried are pretty sour.

We arrived around 5am. Pitch black. People asleep in their chairs or tents. Line snaked all the way back and down the side parking lot. By the time they handed out wrist bands around 8am or so, we were #230 in line. Pretty insane for someone like me who doesn't do this sort of thing.

But all and all, we had a good time. The guys around us were generous with their bottle share as we were with them.
9am, I was feeling pretty good so I went and crashed in the truck for 2 and a half hours.
11:30am - stopped inside, ordered some flights, ate some pizza.
12:30pm - We hopped in line.
1pm - We grabbed some 4 packs and headed home.

My brother wants to go down this Friday but I think once is good enough for me. Especially since they had a number of beers available after the lines finished up.

Do you happen to mule 450?
Has anybody had success with a 450 mule?

6+ months ago, yes. But with the hype explosion, the rates are outrageous lately.

not worth it at all. Unless you have a friend who won't **** you on price. I'd just wait a month or so when the hype dies.

Honest question without lobbing accusations: does anyone else feel like the ABV on the fruited cans is either misleading or incorrect? A buddy was just texting me that he drank a 4 pack of Pink Guava Slushy today over the course of 3 hours and didn't catch a buzz. I've had a conversation with a family member who isn't much of a drinker who had several in a sitting and didn't feel much. I've never felt much but I've always attributed that to being an alcoholic. I can't imagine they would mislead as I'm fairly certain it's illegal. Just an observation.

My question is how the fuck can you drink a 4 pack of slushy alone... I'd get kinda sick of them after one.

I mean...When I was in NC last year, I made a very long day trip before work that night to hit up the Answer. They only do Crowlers. There’s no problem in the world I think for anyone that likes these beers to do a crowler by themselves. Granted, for me that’s probably a 2-3 hour adventure, but for people that would drink that in closer to 90 minutes, it’s not hard for me to imagine someone drinking a 4 pack. A solid too much acid for me, but plenty of people have no issues with sours.

My biggest complaint would be if it was all 1 flavor. Probably not a situation in this world where I would choose to drink 64 ounces of the same fruit flavored sour in one sitting if it was not a growler.

As for the ABV - No comment since I only had a sample. That’s a strange comment though. Makes me very curious. We’re the ones your buddy had the imperial style? (I have not looked, but I assumed that 450N is doing the same thing as Answer with having some that are right around 4.5%, and others that are imperial from 8-11%).

Can I safely assume that when the new space is open their intent is to significantly increase canning capacity (batch size)? I stopped going to releases when they switched to the ticket system because it seems I would now have to get there much earlier to be guaranteed allotments of everything, and that's not something i can feasibly do. Can't wait to get back!

This is a brewery that almost never makes the same exact beer twice. They are about as reliant on scarcity as any brewery I can think of. I wouldn't assume anything like that about their expansion.

I think it’s going to take longer than “a month or so”. They only do one release every three weeks.

It won't. Last release actually had leftover slushees after the line finished. Prior ones they were sold out well before then and only had a few cases of their IPA's which no one really seeks.

Hype for very specific beer dies down as they become more widely available. Just about everyone who wants to try slushy from 450 has had the chance now and it won't be sought out as much.

Yeah I simply wouldn't want to drink 4 of the same beer back to back like that unless it was very light and not highly acidic. I would think that was a great beer, lets do something else haha. This guys throwing them back like they are miller lites.

Agreed. Trying to think of a single beer with an ABV above 6% that I'd want to slam 4 tallboys of in a single night and not be completely thrashed the next day...coming up blank right now.
