I'm making a super quick trip into Columbus this weekend for the OSU - Michigan game (Friday evening - Sunday morning/early afternoon). Excited to go back, haven't been there since I was in school, um, decades ago. Please hit me up with: - bottle shop suggestions - local stuff I'm not likely to get in CT or NYC - beer bars - threads that already cover this stuff (I'll do some searching too) I know it's a really big town, and that my trip is short, but I'll have free time here and there. A couple suggestions specific to this weekend..... Friday Night - A Jackie O's tap takeover is being held at Brothers Drake. They may also still have a bourbon barrel aged beverage on tap from Sunday's bottle release. Saturday pre-game - Winking Lizard is having their annual "The Game" breakfast featuring beer from Founders starting at 9:00 AM. KBS will be on tap.
Jackie O's 375s are around in stores - depending on where you go, you should be able to get BB Brick Kiln and BB Wood Burner as well as regular Dark Apparition, Oil of Aphrodite, Brick Kiln, and Paw Paw Wheat. Head Hunter and White Rajah are also fairly plentiful. The best beer bar in town is Bob's Bar, though it might be out of your way, depending on where you're staying. If you're near downtown, Yellow Brick Pizza has great food and a stellar beer list.
