Hoping you guys can help me with an itinerary... I'm flying in from MA for a meeting at DFW (the meeting is actually AT DFW). I'll be flying in 4/26 for a meeting 4/27, then out in the AM 4/28. I'll have the entire afternoon on 4/26 to myself, and would like to hit breweries if there are any worthwhile, maybe get some great local food, hit some bars, etc before getting to the Rangers game that night. I don't have a car, but willing to Uber wherever. So, what should I do? Is there anywhere worth hitting nearby?
Grapevine Craft Brewery is a good little brewery 5 minutes from the DFW airport. Always have a rotating seasonal tap with some really underrated beers (maybe I'm a little bias as I used to work there) but Halls liquor/beer store in Colleyville is about a 15 minute Uber from the DFW airport and has a very good selection of Texas loot you can bring back with you. Ps. Go Rangers! Gonna be our year this year!
I'd recommend getting an uber and heading in to Dallas. A lot of the local breweries (Community, Texas Ale Project, Noble Rey, Four Corners) are down in that area and have Wednesday hours. As far as food with good beer selections here is a list of what I'd consider notable.. - Meddlesome Moth (personal favorite) - CBD Provisions (great food and good Prairie selection) - LUCK (in the Trinity Groves area where Four Corners is) Hope this helps and if you have any questions doesn't hesitate to message me. Cheers!
Does DART go all the way to DFW now? I would avoid even taking an Uber that far out and use DART to get to downtown Dallas, and then Uber from there. With that said, this is a Wednesday, so these are open in Dallas: Braindead Community Deep Ellum Four Corners Noble Rey On Rotation Small Brewpub
Not a bad idea, I just looked it up, seems to take about twice as long. The orange line shows to go from the airport to Victory station puts you about .7 miles from Community Google Directions. A regional day pass is $10
Public Transport out of DFW will be about 1hr 10min to Ft Worth, and just under 2hrs to Dallas. I recommend you take the Dallas suggestions above and use Uber. If you end up going to Ft Worth, go to Chimera for a brewpub then hit Lonestar Taps & Caps. Good people at Lonestar, @H0rnedFr0gs , if he still gets on here, is one of them.
