Got an email from my homebrew club about 50% off a BYO subscription. For $15 a year seems like a steal.

    Cheers
    1. Go to our BYO Subscription/Membership store webpage: https://byo.com/product-category/subscription-membership/
    2. Choose what type of one-year subscription or membership you want: You can choose Print Subscription Only, Digital Membership Only, or the Print-Digital Combination.
    3. After getting to the specific subscription/membership webpage (print only, digital only, or print-digital combo) you would like to save 50% on, click on “Add to Order”.
    4. At the top of the form click on the Coupon Code link and type “club19” in the coupon code box for your 50% club savings.
    5. Fill out the Billing and Shipping information on the form. You’ll see the 50% discount already applied after you’ve entered the coupon code from step 3.
    6. Click the box with your payment option you prefer: credit card or PayPal. We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, etc.). Fill in the payment information, check the terms and conditions box and finally click the “SIGN UP NOW” button.
    7. That’s it! You’ve locked in 50% savings for the next year and you will also be given the chance in the future to renew for another year at the same 50% savings if you wish.
    8. The deadline to participate in this 50% discount program is June 30, 2019.
    9. If you ordered a new print subscription you’ll receive your first copy in about one month. If you already have a print subscription with us, we will simply add one more year (8 issues) to your existing print subscription account (but please make sure you use the same name and mailing address so we can sync up your print renewal properly.)
    10. If you’ve ordered a new digital membership you’ll receive an email about setting up your account giving you full access to the thousands of homebrewing stories, recipes, and projects online. Unfortunately at this time you can’t add on an additional year if you already have a current digital membership with us.
Any questions about the club discount subscription program? Please email us at: [email protected].

Is anyone that subscribed to the digital/print not receiving the print mailing?
It's approaching 2 months and my snailmail box is empty.

I get the digital notifications/teasers via email.....just haven't received any hard copies yet via USPS.

I didn't go directly to the head honcho but did send a cust svc request and will follow up with Brad if they don't respond in a timely manner. Thanks.

BYO is not a big operation. Going directly to Brad is your best bet here.

    Cheers!

I did this and I still haven’t received my print subscription. I have emailed “Brad” and text also. I keep getting a response that it’s next months subscription I should get. Well see but I think it’s a scam y’all!

Also it has been roughly 2 months for me since I subscribed. Just saying it may be small Op but if your selling something than you need to deliver.

It's not a scam. There are 8 issues per year. You probably subscribed too late for the "July/August" issue mailing, and will start with the "September" issue, which arrives mid-August (i.e. about now). What issue did Brad tell you would be your first?

@VikeMan ok sorry it was Midwest supplies I was texting with. I just bought a home brew kit and they did not ship everything twice lol. It was through email only I communicated with BYO and I want to say it was a female that responded but I don’t have the email still. I believe they did say September. They first time I asked they simply said it takes awhile. I think I waited a couple weeks and asked again and they said September I believe. If it comes I will post here and I will apologize for saying it’s a scam. Maybe better communication is needed with exact dates?

thanks for the customer service @JackHorzempa and @VikeMan

yeah, the end of month period is tough for subs because the list pulls occur right around then, and if you miss that cut-off, the subscriber is looking at the difference between 3 weeks and 7 weeks before getting their first issue.

And for those starting with the Sept issue, be sure to check out Jack's article in that issue on question of rehydrating dry yeast and VikeMan has an awesome one in the October issue about quick souring including his own keg souring build, which is being sent to the printer shortly and finally billandsudz has one coming down the pipeline on homebrew bar build considerations for the November issue. It's an awesome group of homebrewers found here.

Forgot to mention, Brad is our owner and the main CS point person...but the dude is pretty overwhelmed with projects and CS is a huge task. If you've got questions about your print subscription, my first stop would be this place: https://subscribe.pcspublink.com/WeBSIS4/CategoryLogin.aspx?pub=BREW
May save you a lot of frustration...thanks everyone!

Thanks for all the constructive replies regarding print subscriptions.
I’m curious but not upset; not even frustrated.

Customer service can be a full-time job in and of itself. The wording of the mailing status is a tad confusing and might be unnecessarily adding work for Brad.
Checking my sub status on/about Aug 5, via the same page you linked, indicated the last issue sent was “SEP 19, approx. mail date 8/8/19” (IIRC). As nearly 2 weeks passed after the “approx. mail date”, it didn't seem unreasonable to wonder about the actual status of the mailing. If there’s a glitch with my subscription it’d be good to nip it in the bud. Hence my reaching out to BYO CS (aka Brad).

Now the status says, “Last Issue Sent: OCT 19, approx. mail date 9/5/2019” (emphasis mine), which is more than two weeks in the future. Might be better if that was shown as “Issue In Queue: OCT 19, approx. mail date 9/5/2019”, or similar.

I have no reason to believe there’s anything nefarious going on and am confident all will be well when things get rolling, but it’d be good to know that things are in fact rolling.
As said, curious but not upset.

FWIW I [thought I] was running into this problem and I contacted @telejunkie, but then received my print version last night. Maybe the others who were having an issue will receive in the next day or two.

Hopefully it comes soon, I just got my feet wet into homebrewing and I’m trying to read as much as I can. The emails I get from BYO always have good articles and that’s one of the reasons I subscribed. I have subscribed to Popular Mechanics and Popular Science since forever ago. They are actually starting to do a article on craft beer ever issue believe it or not. But I can’t wait to get my first issue of BYO. P.S. I do apologize for the scam comment earlier, I believe I spoke before thinking and it was after a bottle 21 from Central Waters in all fairness.

That's interesting...was also noticing down in the lower left column the "current issue" is the October '15 issue. Have some feedback for our folks in subscription.

So we use secondary (periodicals) class service (as do most magazines). That said, the time lag between shipping and receiving this issue seems a bit elongated compared to normal for domestic delivery. Will delve in with our printer for future shipments.

Thanks for subscribing, hope you enjoy and that it gets to everyone in a timely fashion moving forward!
