Ok. So I'm extremely late to the 512 scene, technically I haven't arrived on scene yet cause I haven't had anything from them . It took me forever just to try Jester King and Freetail, both of which I love. So I need to be briefed on 512. Where to buy (bottles preferably), when what comes out, etc. Thanks for any info. Also, someone please bring some for the La Muerta release ;-)

Unfortunately, I don't believe 512 bottles their beers yet. I suggest purchasing a growler and hitting up local bars and pubs that serve it. Their IPA is quite tasty.

Their IPA is great, also the Pecan Porter and if you can find it on tap the Double Pecan Porter are both must haves. They don't have a distributor and dont regularly bottle anything so you'll have to find it on tap.

they rarely release bottles. wild bear and 3 come to mind, along with double pecan porter. hard to find when they do.

Yep what Krumb said, the bottles are so hard to come by it really is not worth mentioning. No bottles for their regular lineup. Since you are in New Braunfels, check out AJs Ale House. Last I was there they had 512 IPA, Pecan Porter, and Wit on tap. All three are among the best in Texas.

    (512) FOUR should be coming out in bottles sometime in October/November. (512) Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter will be released again in Spring for sure. There'll probably be another bottle release between those two, but I'm unsure if it'll be another batch of Wild Bear (their sour/wild ale) or another beer this year.

But you'll need to come up to Austin the DAY OF RELEASE to get them. They sell out almost immediately. I had to trample several small children to procure my (512) WBADPP this year.

Haven't had a bad beer from them yet. Pecan Porter, Double Pecan Porter, TWO, THREE. All good beers. I got the last bottle of DPP from Specs last this year, and I still haven't opened it yet, but it's great on tap.

Sunrise Mini Mart, South Lamar Wine & Spirits, Whip In, and Spec's Brodie all got bottles on release day last year (from what I can remember, perhaps more). If you follow (512) on Twitter... they actually tweet as they are delivering the bottles.

:slight_frown: Was going to say if you are in the DFW area I know a few places (pubs) that have it... but you are not that far from But you are only like a 40 minute drive from the brewery, surely you have more options than me being in DFW...

I have not lived in NB in a few years but you may be better served heading to San Marcos or SA/ATX.

After talking with some (512) guys last night, and consuming much beverage, they said there's no plans to ever bottle except for limited releases, as well as another batch of Wild Bear. If my memories serves me, I recall they mentioned something about a barrel aged and/or sour wit, but that could be something I made up.

Pecan Porter in my opinion is the best beer brewed in Texas that is easy to find (on tap).
