Jester King and Stanley's were both sold out by 9:00 yesterday.

I snagged one. Anyone drink it yet?

One got opened at Freetail, wasn't impressed. I suppose it's a start but glad I didn't drop the cash on it.

I opened a bottle at Freetail yesterday. I enjoyed it quite a bit, as did several others I talked to. For a first effort I was impressed. Peach was subtle but present, sour but not bracingly so, and no acidic burn on the end.

I'm very much looking forward to the Cherry!

A friend is going to be in Austin tomorrow. Any idea where I should send him to pick up a bottle?

Maybe central market or whole foods.

Keep an eye on this thread. It just seems to be popping up randomly every day, so it's hard to know who gets it next

Anyone know of anywhere in the Dallas area that has this or is planning on getting it? All the whole foods and specs near me said they will not be receiving it...

I guess I've missed out on all the locally released bottles or it will be released at downtown specs Houston and I dont have time to wait in line on a work day morning.

Anyways looking for an IP trade in Austin/Houston/SA. I have Bruery sours, Crooked Stave Cellar Reserve bottles, and HF saisons. Looking for someone that can trade 2 bottles. BM me and I'll send you what I have.

I tried it at FT. It was one of the first beers I had that morning so my pallet was not shot by that time. I honestly was very disappointed in it. I could barely detect any peach flavor or aroma and found it overwhelmingly sour and one dimensional. It follows what I like to call "American" sour brewing, which is basically if we can just make this beer super sour people will like it because its sour. I felt it lacked any of the complexity and subtleties that I enjoy about great sour beers. I won't be seeking this one out if it happens to make it to SA.

Exactly how I feel - weak fruit flavor, one dimensional, though my definition of overwhelming is more tart than this beer.

Keep taste preferences in mind as well, I can also appreciate enamel rippers like the stuff coming out of Upland, but I'm personally looking for more fruit accuracy and complexities in tartness rather than sheer acidity.

Seems a lot of places have not gotten there allotment in yet. Smaller places in Austin have gotten it, but the bigger places (Whole Foods Market, HEB) are taking a while. Hold on to your horses and keep your ears to the ground.

Yeah I heard the Black Friday rumors aren't true but I've heard from others that they are holding it for a set release time...means one of those lines in the morning. I usually don't mind Spec's ways of alloting their limited received beers but holding a fruited sour that already isn't very fruitty? Sounds like a stupid thing to do to their customers and 512's consumers.

If anyone in Austin is still looking for this, I saw at least a case total between the cooler and overstock at the flag store, at $15-16 which is actually a reasonable price (for once). Don't worry, there is plenty of overpriced beer in there in case you have too much money-- $15 Black Crack, $18 Paradox Jura, ...

Had this one this weekend. Puckered up a bit, but the peaches missed my bottle.
